<< Previous Quest: Salvage or Die
Milo Mensix
The quest starts at Milo Mensix (301, -1224) in the Mensix Mining Facility on Mustafar, after completing Salvage or Die.
Conversation with Milo Mensix[]
Milo Mensix: Hello and welcome. I am Milo Mensix, head of this little operation here. Chivos has kept me informed about your good work for us. I was hoping that maybe I could persuade you to do some extra work for us...work that would require your obvious talents.
PC: What sort of work are you talking about?
Milo Mensix: I am sure that you have noticed that we are experiencing many different problems here. It is of the utmost importance that we find a way to quickly upgrade this facility so that we can stay on schedule and meet our clients' demands.
PC: Why is this latest client so important that you would risk your entire facility?
Milo Mensix: It goes well beyond the financial reward, I assure you. If this contract fails, the entire company fails. All of these people will be out of work and I am not so sure that anyone will come back to pick up the pieces like we did with Klegger.
PC: This doesn't sound right. Who are these clients?
Milo Mensix: I am going to be completely honest with you because I...we need your help in a most desperate way. The client we are working for is the Empire. They came to us with a very generous offer last year, but they keep altering the deal. Always demanding more...faster. We cannot keep up anymore.
PC: So, get out of the deal.
Milo Mensix: Do you not think I have tried that? They said that if I fail to meet their expectations, they would take over the operation. They also made it pretty clear that if they had to take over, me and my men would no longer be needed. I can only guess by the presence of those Star Destroyers, they didn't mean we would be fired.
PC: So there is nothing you can do?
Milo Mensix: We are working way over capacity now. I just received a message that they want to meet with me later this week. They only do that when they are planning on increasing the requirements yet again. I wish I had never made that deal, but there is nothing I can do about that now. I have to find some way to save my men. I was hoping you could help me.
PC: What can I do to help?
Milo Mensix: It is a pretty slim chance, but I was hoping that maybe some of that old technology could have an answer to our problems. Our engineers say that even though it is from so long ago, it is incredibly powerful. In many ways, more powerful than anything we have now.
PC: What old technology?
Milo Mensix: It is said that Mustafar wasn't always like it is now. I don't know if that is true or not, but occasionally, we find things...old things that don't belong here. The surface of our world can shift violently, swallowing an entire building, and then years later, spit it back up. Like that cruiser you already visited...it just showed up one day about twenty years ago.
PC: What does this have to do with ancient technology?
Milo Mensix: These things that show up are where we find it. Maybe you could go back to the crashed ship and search it for anything that will enable us to increase our power output or make our mining techniques faster. Anything that can help us.
PC: What makes you think I will even know what to look for?
Milo Mensix: I have been thinking about that. Those ship's memory cores are almost completely destruction-proof. If you can get a terminal online, you should be able to access its memory and find the answers we need. Of course, that is, if there even are any answers to find. Please...help us. I promise you will be well-paid for your trouble.
PC: I will do my best to help you.
Milo Mensix: Thank you. I promise you will not regret this.
The Downed Ship[]
Level: 80 [Group]
Description:
- Milo Mensix wants a permanent solution to the problems the facility is facing. The recently uncovered Old Republic cruiser might have information that the miners could use to increase their station's productivity. Mensix has asked you to investigate the downed ship in more detail and see if you can find a terminal that can be used to access the ship's memory banks.

Recommended combat levels: 80 and higher |
Travel to the Wreckage[]
Make your way to the central volcano and revisit the crashed Old Republic cruiser.
Accept his mission to get a working terminal up at the Old Republic ship’s dig.
Locate a Working Terminal[]
Amazingly the ship appears to be in better condition then expected. There is a chance that its memory is still intact. If you can locate a working terminal you might be able to access it.
Head out to the ship’s detached “Bridge” (/wp 261 24). Consult the “Working Terminal” you find there, which will instruct you to find a working circuit board.
/way 261 24 Working Terminal;
Conversation with the Working Terminal[]
Working Terminal: [This terminal would be functional if its circuit boards were replaced.]
PC: Maybe I should find it some circuit boards.
Working Terminal: [no response]
Activating the Terminal[]
Level: 80 [Group]
Description:
- You have located a terminal on the bridge of the crashed Old Republic cruiser but its circuit boards are destroyed. You will have to salvage some more circuit boards from around the crash site to replace the damaged ones.
|
Recommended combat levels: 80 and higher |
Salvage Circuit Boards[]
Sift through the ship's debris and see if you can locate another terminal with good circuit boards to replace the damaged ones.
Head back up the wreckage path to “a destroyed terminal” (/wp 210 286) and search it.
/way 210 286 a destroyed terminal;
Search Salvage Bandits[]
The Salvage Bandits in the area probably removed the circuit boards from the terminal. Search them until you find the four you need.
The quest changes to trying to find four further circuit boards off of Salvage Bandits… so start killing! Kill 4 Salvage Bandits (CL 75)
Fix Terminal[]
Now that you have the four circuit boards, return to the ship's bridge and attach them to the terminal.
Once they are dealt with, return to the “Bridge” and insert the circuit boards.
/way 261 24 Working Terminal;
Activate Computer[]
Access the now operational computer and try to find any information you can about increasing the power output of the mining facility.
Take your time and read the story - fans of KOTOR should get a real kick out of this (and notice similarities). You receive a way point to the next part of the quest.
Conversation with the Working Terminal[]
Working Terminal: Query: Where am I?
PC: You mean that you don't know?
Working Terminal: Application: Searching memory banks. Thruster control; navigation computer; large, bulbous body. I think I am a starship.
PC: Yes, you are a crashed Old Republic cruiser.
Working Terminal: This is most interesting. I do not recall being a starship. My blasters are offline.
PC: You do not recall... Did you... What do you need blasters for?
Working Terminal: Statement: It is better to be safe than sorry.
PC: I don't think you are going to need your blasters.
Working Terminal: Statement: It has been my experience that it is much harder to blow things up without them. Of course, I could just land on them, but my thrusters appear to be offline as well.
PC: Okay, moving on. I need to ask you some questions.
Working Terminal: I believe I have located it. I find it very odd that it isn't here. It should be, but then again I have been offline for a very long time.
PC: Located what?
Working Terminal: I don't think you need to worry about that. It is more of a personal problem. You wanted to ask me some questions? I might have answers.
PC: I need to find out a way to increase the output in a mining facility.
Working Terminal: Oh, I was hoping it would involve blasters. If you wait for a moment, I will search my database to see if there is any information on mining facility: increased productivity of...
PC: You really like blasters.
Working Terminal: Statement: What is not to like? The light, the noise, the screaming... Oh, I have located the information on the mining facility. If you reroute the lower subroutine in the main reactor to the...QUERY MISSING...output increase of 300 percent. I hope that answered your query to satisfaction.
PC: Wait! What about that part missing in the middle?
Working Terminal: You mean the QUERY MISSING part? I am afraid that is all that is located in my memory banks. I cannot be positive, but I do not think I am functioning correctly. You should transfer me to the Republic facility that is nearby. They will definitely have the information you require.
PC: What Republic facility?
Working Terminal: The one that is several clicks to the northeast of this location. Was there another 5000-year-old relic of the past in this area I was not aware of? You simply need to hook up the satellite uplink to my mainframe and I can transfer to that facility. From there, I am sure I can find what you are looking for.
PC: Now there is a satellite uplink around here?
Working Terminal: Answer: Of course. The strange people with all the droids left it not too long ago. You just need to enter the cavern and the automated repair system will come online. Like the nice mindless droid it is, it will reconnect the uplink. Of course, the kubaza beetles might be a problem. Since you lack a guidance system, I will supply you with the location of the cavern.
PC: What kubaza beetles?
Working Terminal: While running a short-range scan of the area, I discovered that the kubaza beetles have moved into that cavern. It was probably them that tore down the uplink relay in the first place. There is a ninety-eight percent chance that they will not like you being there. I recommend that you kill them before they kill you.
PC: And then you can get me the information I need?
Working Terminal: Answer: I am close to positive that the information you need will be there. Of course, I have noticed that I am occasionally wrong. But in this case, I think I am correct. You should hook up the uplink. Besides, I am sure you will get to blast a few things along the way.
PC: Why do you think that?
Working Terminal: Statement: Things have a tendency to get blasted when I am around. ...I wish my blasters worked.
You've found the old bunker, now you need to venture inside and see if you can find a working computer terminal.
