Talon Karrde was involved in a series of pre-NGE quests, based out of Doaba Guerfel on Corellia. These quests have since been removed and replaced with an NPC named Zakarisz Ghent, who claims to be an associate of Karrde's.

Mission 1[]
Conversation with Talon Karrde[]
Talon Karrde: The name is Talon Karrde. I'm in the import/export business and find myself temporarily without an assistant. You seem a likely prospect. Would you be interested in making a few credits? I can use a little help with a pickup run. What do you say?
PC: What do you need me to pick up?
Talon Karrde: A disk that a data slicer associate of mine has put together to help me with my shipping interests. I need someone to get it in my place, as I seem to have picked up a tail. Don't ask who's tailing me -- I don't know. Will you make the pickup?
PC: Yes.
Talon Karrde: I thought you might be interested. You'll be looking for Ara Miorri. She's a little on the eccentric side, doing all her business outside of town -- although I hear that's becoming more common.
Ara Miorri was accompanied by a thug. Thug was white con, Ara was a dark blue. BTW Ara was a man. I lost 60 Thug and gained 30 Townsperson from Ara and lost 70 Thug and gained 35 for the Thug.

Talon Karrde: A job well done, my friend. Maybe we can do more business later.
Mission 2[]
Conversation with Talon Karrde[]
Talon Karrde: Do you recall that Rodian who tried to interfere with our last bit of business? Not long after you left that slicer, Ara Niorri, the Rodian's partner killed her. Ara was a gifted woman, and I do not take kindly to associates being murdered. Will you be my tool of vengence?
PC: Why did the Rodians attack me and kill Ara? Who sent them?
Talon Karrde: Ah, answering that question is my current priority. I suspect a certain Hutt rival elsewhere on Corellia. She likes to keep her own hands clean nowadays, but she sends others to do the dirtiest possible work. Will you avenge Ara?
PC: Yes.
Talon Karrde: Good, I didn't think you'd let this offense stand unanswered. The Rodian's name is Vralla. I'd be careful of her -- you foiled her partner, so she may be looking for you.
I killed her and got some bad thug faction (-70), good townsperson faction (+30).

Talon Karrde: So the lady Hutt was involved in this. Just as I suspected. I believe I'll have to discourage her from playing in my affairs.
Mission 3[]
Conversation with Talon Karrde[]
Talon Karrde: I've been keeping my eye on the Lady Hutt after our recent run-ins. My informants tell me she's expecting an important delivery from Naboo soon. Will you intercept it for me?
PC: Are you really willing to go against the Hutts?
Talon Karrde: Technically I'm only going against one Hutt, but in truth, the answer to your question is yes. Nobody gets far in this business without taking some risks. Besides, I know a few things they don't. Trust me on this. So will you do it?
PC: Yes.
Talon Karrde: I knew I could count on you. The ship just landed in a remote location, and the delivery is being made by hand. Find the courier and take the package. I don't like doing business this way, but the Lady Hutt must learn the consequences of interfering with me.
There are two Hutt thugs that charge you when you get close to the courrier. Both conned white to me, with a curved sword and Expert 1H Sword skill. They went down pretty easily and each gave a -90 Jabba faction hit with +70 to some group I'd never heard of. You then speak to the courrier who tells you that you've made the worst mistake of your life, and head back for your reward.

Talon Karrde: You got it? Good. Now I'll find out what the Lady is mixed up in. Thanks for your good work.
Mission 4[]
Conversation with Talon Karrde[]
Talon Karrde: I'm always a little horrified at the lengths people in this business will go to. The Lady Hutt has purchased a genetically engineered virus that heightens aggression. There are some things I'm just not willing to be involved in, and engineered viruses are right up there. Will you deliver this virus sample to the Biological Control Bureau for me?
PC: Umm -- it's not contagious, is it?
Talon Karrde: I am assured that its current form does not affect sapient races. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to change that.
PC: Yes.
Talon Karrde: Good. I've arranged for a quiet dropoff with one of the BCB couriers. Just meet him, give him the package, and there'll be no questions asked. I hope they can get a retrovirus started in case anyone tries something foolish.
You're sent to deliver a package containing a chemical virus that needs to be researched to an NPC outside of town. I was attacked by one Hutt thug this time, same as each of the thugs in quest 3, though there was another hostile guy standing nearby that didn't charge me (I may have just gotten lucky). Hand in the package then return for your reward. Talon didn't give any further leads and wouldn't talk to me at all after this.
