Create a Mineral Survey Device[]
One of the best ways to acquire resources on the ground is to use a survey device. Use the metal that Raine gave you to make a Mineral Survey Device. To use the crafting tool: Double-click on the generic crafting tool in your inventory. Double-click on the schematic that you wish to use. Double-click on the appropriate resources. Only resources that you can use will be available. Once you decide what resources to use, press the 'Assemble' button. Press 'Yes' to confirm that you want to make the item. If you cancel after this point, you lose the resources. You will see how successful the item is. Press 'Next' to continue. Press 'Create Object' to complete the item. Press 'Yes' to confirm. The item will be complete in a few seconds.
Talk to Raine in Hangar Bay 1[]
You made the Mineral Survey Device. Talk to Raine and show him what you made. He will reward your hard work.
Conversation with Raine Taske[]
Raine Taske: Very good. You finished the device, yes?
PC: Yes I did.
Raine Taske: Let me see. Oh! I know what I did wrong! I didn't make the radar able to scale and my abilities with it are too low to use the long-range radar.
PC: I see how that could be a problem.
Raine Taske: Yes. I still have some extra metal, so if you would show me another tool, I'd appreciate it.
PC: Sure.
Raine Taske: I just want you to know that I'm very impressed with your willingness to help me. Here is payment for your generosity. I have some extra metal if you would show me how to make a Flora Survey device.
PC: I can do that. I need one anyway.
Raine Taske: Thanks again. Let me know when you finish the Flora Survey Device.
