Minstyngers are found on several levels of the Rryatt Trail on Kashyyyk. They come in a number of varieties; Bloodspillers, Bonecrushers, and Deathcallers have been catalogued on Kashyyyk, with especially massive specimens to be found far down on the forest floor, known also as The Shadowed Lands.

A massive simian creature, the minstyngar haunted the lower levels of the Rryatt Trail. The minstyngar had a rudimentary social structure. Although many adult minstyngar could be found roaming the Rryatt Trail, the elders and younglings were often hidden deep in the forest, far from prying eyes. Their skin was either a shade of green or brown.
