Lt. Akal Colzet is an Imperial space trainer who is located in Bestine on Tatooine, the initial point of contact for anyone wishing to join Storm Squadron. After signing up for duty by talking to him, he will issue you a standard TIE-Fighter and the Basic Pilot Skill, before sending you off on your first set of piloting missions for Storm Squadron.
You can find Lt. Akal Colzet in the main room of the Imperial Pilot's Association Hall, North-East of the Capitol Building in Bestine, at waypoint -1111 -3515.
Pilot Missions[]
1.1 Patrol the Tatooine system[]
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Good morning. My name is Lieutenant Akal Colzet, Imperial Navy. I've been assigned to Tatooine to recruit local volunteer pilots into service. Are you interested in learning about the Imperial Navy?
PC: I'm interested in hearing about the Imperial Navy, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: The Imperial Navy is the finest fleet in the galaxy. The brave and the bold. We command the Empire's starships and fighters. We are the hammer of Imperial justice. All members of the Imperial Navy are officers, however we are now starting to recruit non-officer pilots for limited support duty.
PC: Sir, I can fly. It would be an honor to fly with the Imperial Navy.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Service in the Imperial Navy isn't something to be taken lightly. Your training will be strict, you'll be expected to follow orders, and of course, any association with the Rebellion would be punished severely. Are you sure you want to sign up?
PC: Yes. I want to be in the Imperial Navy.
Lt. Akal Colzet: By the powers vested in me by the Imperial Naval Command, under the ever watchful eye of the Emperor, I hereby conscript you to service with the non-officer flight rank of Pilot Initiate. May you serve the Empire dutifully. Welcome to the Imperial Navy.
PC: Thank you, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: I'm transferring a ship authorization and control device to your datapad. You'll need this to use your TIE Fighter. Should you lose your control device and access to your ship, you can apply for a new one at any time. Unfortunately, I'm only authorized to supply you with access to our low end TIE technology.
PC: Thank you, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Are you ready for your first assignment?
PC: (Salute) Sir!
Lt. Akal Colzet: Very good. How may I help you, Initiate?
PC: I'm ready for a mission, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: A mission, pilot? Don't overstep your station. You're a voluntary conscript, not a combat pilot. If you're lucky, the Empire might one day see fit to post you to combat duty.
PC: Sir, yes sir!
Lt. Akal Colzet: As it stands, I do have an assignment for you. As you know, ships travel to and from Bestine every day along the Primary Commerce Route. Commercial traffic to Bestine is limited to the route, so we can scan each ship for illegal cargo. I want you to perform a circuit patrol of the Bestine PCR.
PC: Understood, sir!
Lt. Akal Colzet: The purpose of this patrol assignment isn't to add any additional security to the Commerce Route. I highly doubt you would be effective in a combat situation. This is to assess your ability to pilot a ship and follow basic instructions. I've transferred the patrol route to your datapad. You are to fly to each point in the patrol route and then report back to me upon completion. Is this clear, Pilot Initiate?
PC: Clear as Duralian Tea, sir!
Lt. Akal Colzet: If you perform capably, we will consider you for more dangerous assignments. Good luck.
Tatooine System: Patrol the Tatooine System[]
Description:
- Run a patrol route in the Tatooine system in order to keep an eye out for pirate activity. Once you arrive in the Tatooine system, you will receive a navigation waypoint to the first stop on the patrol route. Travel to this waypoint. Once you arrive, the navigation waypoint will update to the next stop on the patrol route. Continue following these navigation waypoints until you have completed the patrol. When you complete this mission, return to Lt. Akal Colzet in the Imperial Pilot's Association Hall next to the Bestine Capitol building for your next assignment.
Follow the Patrol Route.
Tatooine System: Destroy the Commerce Raiders[]
Description:
- Destroy the pirate ambush. Your patrol route has been successful and, as planned, the Commerce Raiders have attacked you. You must destroy the pirates that have attacked you. Once you have completed this task return to the Tatooine space station, target it by pressing the 'C' key, and use the /comm command and return to your commanding officer.
Approaching the third Patrol waypoint you will be attacked by :
- 3 Tier 1 Z-95 "Commerce Raiders".
Rewards:
- Credits: 100 credits
- 25 Imperial Faction Points
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Stand at attention. Now, deliver your report on the Commerce Route patrol.
PC: (Relate the facts on the commerce raider attack.)
Lt. Akal Colzet: Pirates? Tatooine is known for criminal activity, but Bestine has always been strongly protected by Imperial justice. The recent Rebel insurgency must be giving the pirates a new spirit of confidence.
PC: I was able to eliminate all of the pirates who attacked, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Hmm. You may have what it takes to be a combat pilot. On the other hand, you might have just gotten lucky. Either way, you fulfilled your duty. Here is your payment and an additional sum to compensate for hazards encountered.
PC: Thank you, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Report back to me when you are ready for another duty.
1.2 Seek and Destroy Four Commerce Raiders[]
Tatooine System: Seek and Destroy Four Commerce Raiders[]
Description:
- With its lucrative shipping routes and small police force the Tatooine system has become ripe with pirate activity. If the Empire wants any chance at gaining a serious foot hold on Outer Rim worlds the pirates of those sectors must be eliminated. The Commerce Raider's numbers are growing constantly and it is time for them to be culled. Imperial command has supplied you with several navigation waypoints to areas of high pirate activity. When you complete this mission, return to Lt. Akal Colzet in the Imperial Pilot's Association Hall next to the Bestine Capitol building for your next assignment.
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Pilot Initiate. Your success in responding to pirate aggression during patrol has encouraged the local Naval Command. Despite their enthusiasm, I am still not convinced their faith in voluntary conscripts is justified. I am honestly surprised you survived.
PC: Just a simple patrol, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Don't get too cocky, it might have just been luck. I've convinced the Naval Command to test your abilities further. We want to crush the pirates and demonstrate that Imperial resolve remains strong. I want you to get into space and destroy any Commerce Raiders you find. Your mission is to eliminate four of the pirates.
PC: Consider them dead, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: That's the spirit, Pilot Initiate! You're starting to sound like an Imperial Pilot should. We have Intelligence reports on areas of high pirate activity that will be good places for you to start your search for the pirates. Report back to me upon completion of your task.
You receive four possible target locations. Target locations will contain a couple of Tier 1 Z-95 "Commerce Raiders" and possibly one Tier 2 Kill 4 of them to complete your mission.
Rewards:
- Credits: 200 credits
- 50 Imperial Faction Points
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: I've already received word of your success against Commerce Raiders in the region. It seems the Empire was not at error to place its trust in you.
PC: Yes, sir. I overcame the enemy with ease.
Lt. Akal Colzet: No doubt you did, as would be expected from any Imperial pilot. Here is your salary as well as a little extra. The Emperor rewards dutiful service. I've taken liberty of submitting your physical profile to the Commissions Office. Your spec TIE flight suit will be ready soon.
1.3 Meet the Imperial Transport[]
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Stand at attention, Pilot. Having shown skill in combat situations you are being elevated to an Outer Rim security detail. For the time being, I will handle your assignments, briefings, and deployment. You will operate as an independent agent until we determine a specific placement for you.
PC: I will not fail you, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: As well you should not. You will be given assignments that, while small, are still critical to Imperial interests in the Outer Rim. The consequences of failure would be significant. So, as you say, you will not fail.
PC: Yes, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Now then, your mission. Bestine has become a key base location for Imperial Naval operations in the Outer Rim. Many ships and men are moved through this region on a daily basis. Ships and men consume supplies and uninterrupted delivery of supplies is critical to the integrity of base operations.
PC: Absolutely, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Wing Epsilon Zeta, operating out of the garrisoned ISD Accuser, usually handles supply security operations. Escort, patrol, and the like. They are overtaxed and have asked for additional support. Your job will be to fly a standard patrol sweep through the region.
PC: Yes, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: I don't expect you will run into trouble, as many ships safely move through the region every day, but be on guard. If you do encounter something amiss, you have permission to respond as you see fit. This operational autonomy is contingent upon your continued success. Screw up and you'll be kept on a short leash.
PC: I will not disappoint, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Excellent. Deliver a report to me upon completion of the mission.
Tatooine System: Meet the Imperial Transport[]
Description:
- The Empire is expecting some very important shipments of cargo to be coming into the Tatooine system on its way to Bestine. These supplies are slated to go to the ground forces located in and around the Imperial capital of Tatooine and it is imperitive that they make it to their destination. You are to patrol the arrival and drop off locations of these ships shortly before they arrive to reduce any attempt by pirates to take these craft. When you complete this mission, return to Lt. Akal Colzet in the Imperial Pilot's Association Hall next to the Bestine Capitol building for your next assignment.
Follow the Patrol Route. After the 4th patrol waypoint you will receive a rendezvous point to meet with the Imperial transport.
Tatooine System: Escort the Imperial Transport[]
Description:
- Remain in the Tatooine system and escort the freighter through the system. Once you finish the patrol in the Tatooine system, you will receive a navigation waypoint to the freighter's arrival location. Travel to this location and wait for the freighter to arrive. Once the freighter arrives, follow it to its destination. You will have to keep it safe from any enemy fighters who attempt to stop it from reaching its destination.
Meet the Freighter and escort it. You will be attacked by alternating attack waves:
- 2 Tier 1 Z-95 "Commerce Raiders".
- 1 Tier 2 Z-95 "Commerce Raiders".
Rewards:
- Credits: 500 credits
- 50 Imperial Faction Points
- TIE Pilot Bodysuit
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Report on your patrol, pilot.
PC: (Relate the details of the distress call.)
Lt. Akal Colzet: You responded to a rapidly changing situation, eliminated the enemy, and helped secure valuable medical supplies. I'm proud of you, pilot. You've come a long way in a short time. The Empire could use more people like you.
PC: Thank you, sir. I do my best.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Here's your salary for the operation and another bonus for exceptional duty. I also received your Imperial flight suit. Please wear it while you are on duty. Your helmet will take a while longer, the inertia electronics have to be calibrated for every pilot. You wouldn't want to black out during a fast maneuver.
PC: Thank you sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: I have to admit that you have the makings of a true Imperial officer about you. Report back to me when you are ready for your next mission.
1.4 Destroy the Commerce Raider Leader[]
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: At ease, Pilot. The security situation in the Bestine Orbital Region has clearly deteriorated. Pirate attacks on commerce lanes and supply transports cannot be tolerated. You have shown commendable initiative in responding to pirate aggression, so you have been selected for a special mission.
PC: Yes, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Imperial intelligence has located a suspected pirate leader. He seems to frequent a staging area close to the Bestine Orbital Region. I'm transferring the coordinates to your datapad now.
PC: Yes, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Your job is to locate and eliminate the pirate leader at the coordinates I have given you. Imperial Naval Command believes a decisive strike against the pirates would cripple, if not eliminate, their operations in this system.
PC: I will find and destroy the enemy, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Report to me when you have completed your mission. May the Emperor guide you to victory.
Tatooine System: Destroy the Commerce Raider Leader[]
Description:
- Destroy the Commerce Raider Leader in the Tatooine system. The Commerce Raiders are becoming a problem that is quickly growing out of control. Intelligence has managed to get a lock on where the pirate's leader is laying low. Without their leader, Imperial Command hopes that the pirates will lose a great deal of their effectiveness. You are to destroy this leader. When you complete this mission, return to Lt. Akal Colzet in the Imperial Pilot's Association Hall next to the Bestine Capitol building and Lt. Colzet will train you in a new Imperial Pilot skill.
You will be directed to your target and his escort:
- 1 Tier 1 Z-95 "Commerce Raider".
- 1 Tier 2 Z-95 "Commerce Raider Leader".
You can focus on the Leader and ignore his escort.
Rewards:
- Credits: 1000 credits
- 75 Imperial Faction Points
- TIE Pilot Helmet
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Report on the status of your operation against the pirate leader, pilot.
PC: I located and destroyed him, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: This information will please the Naval Command. No doubt they will also realize that part of your success came from my masterful instruction. I think you may have done us both a great service.
PC: Just doing my duty, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Here is your salary for the mission. This one was worth double the normal rate. I've also received your Imperial TIE pilot helmet, specifically calibrated for your mental and physical flight profile. Wear this whenever you are on duty as a symbol of the Empire's technological and military might.
PC: Thank you, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: You've earned it, pilot. You have exceeded the expectations of this program and of myself. Your duty has not ended, however. Return when you are ready to take on another operation.
At the end of your training you will receive an "Authorization of Transfer" that you can read and Sign.
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Pilot, I am singularly impressed. You have mastered the fundamentals of your profession and have performed beyond expectation and all without formal Imperial Naval Flight & Command training. I think it's time for a promotion.
PC: Thank you, sir. I do my best.
Lt. Akal Colzet: By the powers vested in me by the Imperial Naval Command, under the ever watchful eye of the Emperor, I hereby commend you and bestow upon you the rank of Pilot Officer. Congratulations, Pilot Officer.
PC: I am honored, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: You should be. An officer rank is usually only given to those who graduate Naval Command School. All combat pilots in the Imperial Navy hold at least the rank of Pilot Officer. The Empire has recognized your ability and has seen fit to elevate you to the lowest rank of the command echelon.
PC: I live only to serve the Emperor, sir.
Lt. Akal Colzet: As do we all. Now that you have achieved an official command rank, I am no longer your commanding officer. Although it pains me to lose such a fine pilot, you have been reassigned pending approval of transfer.
PC: Where is my new assignment?
Lt. Akal Colzet: You must have impressed someone, pilot. You are being posted for consideration to join Storm Squadron. The squadron is a special operations wing based here in the Tatooine system. Their C.O. is a man named Commander Jhon Oberhaur.
PC: What is Oberhaur like?
Lt. Akal Colzet: Cdr. Oberhaur is friendly, but a tough man. He'll work you hard. You aren't officially a member of Storm Squadron yet. You need to impress Cdr. Oberhaur during the application phase to be accepted. You'll need to take this Authorization of Transfer to him. He's currently stationed here in Bestine. You can find his office over in the capital building. Sign this form and give it to him to start.
PC: (Take the form.)
Lt. Akal Colzet: Good luck, pilot. Stay sharp.
PC: Yes, Sir!
Lt. Akal Colzet: Dismissed.
You can then continue your training by speaking with Commander Oberhaur located in Victor Visalis Office.
Duty missions[]
Conversation with Lt. Akal Colzet[]
Lt. Akal Colzet: Pilot. I don't have any specific work for you at this time. You can now select your preferred operation from a list of general duties. Or, if you have enough experience, pursue training.
PC: I'm interested in a duty.
Lt. Akal Colzet: Good, I have a lot of work for you. Pirate activity in the area is still fairly high. There are plenty of pirates to hunt or you could help escort transports moving supplies.
PC: [Destroy Duty] I'm interested in hunting pirates. / [Escort Duty] I'm interested in escorting transports.
Tatooine System: Destroy the Commerce Raiders Duty[]
Description:
- Travel to the Tatooine system and attack the Commerce Raiders. A destroy duty is a voluntary mission that you are able to quit at any time without repercussions. When you reach the Tatooine system a navigation waypoint will be sent to you. Travel to this waypoint and you will be attacked by enemy fighters. Each time you destroy a wave of fighters a new wave will attack. Once you have destroyed all the attack waves at one waypoint, you will receive a new waypoint that you can fly to and continue destroying the enemy craft. A destroy duty will continue in this manner until you decide to stop.
Tatooine System: Escort the Cargo Freighters Duty[]
Description:
- Travel to the Tatooine system and escort the cargo freighters through the system. An escort duty is a voluntary mission that you are able to quit at any time without repercussions. When you reach the Tatooine system, you will get a navigation waypoint to the arrival location of a cargo freighter that you will need to escort through the system. Travel to the waypoint and wait until the freighter hyperjumps into the system. Once it is in the area, it will begin to fly through the system. You need to follow the freighter until it reaches its destination. Keep a careful eye out for enemy attack since they will attempt to destroy this freighter. Once completed you will receive another waypoint to the arrival location of another freighter. This escort duty can be stopped at any time by simply aborting the mission or leaving the system.
