Haymir Rendundi
Haymir Rendundi is the Imperial Pilot Tier III trainer for Black Epsilon and is located on Yavin IV at the Imperial Outpost there (4065, -6193). Haymir will give you four, multi-part missions and will train you after each one. Advancement depends only on mission completion for this entire Tier.
Pilot Missions[]
The missions for this tier contain multiple parts.
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: %TU. What kind of name is that?
PC: A good one.
Haymir Rendundi: Not in my book it isn't. Who sent you? I need soldiers! And this is what I get.
PC: Prisk Kith'Vys told me to report to you for my new assignment.
Haymir Rendundi: Lucky me. Listen up. As you probably know the Empire has been running salvage operations in this system. Unfortunately, we are not the only ones who have taken an interest in the wreckage of the Death Star. We have to deal with pirates, on top of members of the Rebel Alliance trying to get their hands on top secret technologies.
PC: Sounds like a job for local security to handle.
Haymir Rendundi: Storm Squadron has done the brunt of the work already in this system, but they are in the process of being reassigned. Not to mention that a new threat has emerged and High Command thinks that we are just the right people to take care of it.
PC: What would this new problem be?
Haymir Rendundi: Did I say you could ask questions? I will explain it all in good time and I can do without your comments. Anyway, it would seem that Nym and the Rebellion have decided to work together in harrying Imperial forces while grabbing as much salvage as they can.
PC: [wait]
Haymir Rendundi: So you can be silent when required. That is a good thing. Nym is a pirate chief from the Lok system. We have known for a long time that he sympathized with the Rebellion but, as long as he stayed out of the way, we didn't care. It looks like he has had a policy change.
PC: So we are to try to split the alliance between Nym and the Rebellion?
Haymir Rendundi: You catch on quick. Our first task is to locate a Rebel officer or spy and try to find out about their joint operation. If we can discover how the two forces are working together we can figure out how best to break their alliance. You are to take patrol inside the Yavin system and perform scans of the zone until you can find a ranking member of the Rebel Alliance. Capture and inspect that ship to see if they have the information we are looking for.
PC: Yes, sir!
Haymir Rendundi: While you are up there, do not be surprised if we contact you again. This operation will involve careful timing and precise actions. Do not fail me.
Patrol the Yavin system[]
Yavin System: Patrol the Yavin System[]
Description:
- An Alliance has been built between the Rebels and Nym. Their combined forces are causing a great deal of havok with the Imperial salvage operation in the Yavin system. Black Epsilon has been brought in to try force Nym to break off his direct alliance with the Rebellion. In order to start this operation command needs to gather intelligence on their joint operation so you are going out on patrol to find a Rebel officer who might have access to that information.
Travel to the waypoints given to you. You will finish 3 of the 4 waypoints. About half way to the fourth waypoint, your mission will update. If not, finish traveling to the fourth waypoint.
Mission Alert: Scans indicate a Rebel officer nearby. Disable and inspect the rebel officer for any information relating to their alliance with Nym.
Yavin System: Inspect the Rebel Spy[]
Description:
- Remain in the Yavin system and inspect the Rebel spy. While on your patrol your short range scanners picked up the signature of a Rebel spy. Intercept and disable this Rebel, so you can inspect it for any sort of operations plan between Nym and the Rebellion.
You are sent to inspect the Rebel Spy. Proceed to waypoint. While on your way, cycle through targets; you are looking for Rebel Spy. It is a Tier 4 A-Wing "Rebel Spy"; proceed to inspect it. If it is what you are looking for you will have to disable then dock with it. If it isn't what you are looking for, you will have to destroy it and wait for a new spawn. Once docking is done your mission will be complete.
In addition - This mission is very tricky due to the fact as you approach the 1st waypoint a Rebel contingent of about 5 ships (Tier 3) will always be there. Unless your ship is severely boosted up in gear or you have a gaming buddy there is virtually no clear way to do this solo, and it can get very very frustrating. Remember a lot of the time when you kill one ship another will respawn quickly so even after knocking out a ship your still up against 5 or more, most annoying.
Mission Alert: Headquarters needs that information immediately. Transfer it to an Imperial shuttle for immediate delivery to command.
Yavin System: Deliver the Rebel Data[]
Description:
- Remain in the Yavin system and deliver the joint operations plan. You will receive a navigation waypoint to a shuttle that will pick up the joint operations plan from you. Travel to this navigation waypoint and wait for the shuttle to arrive. Once the shuttle arrives, press the 'U' key to dock with the shuttle targeted to transfer the plans. Enemy fighters will attempt to stop this delivery from taking place. You must keep yourself, as well as, the shuttle alive until you can complete the delivery.
Black Epsilon Command: Meet the shuttle at this location. Transfer the data immediately on it's arrival.
You are to deliver the plans you received in Part Two to an imperial shuttle. Proceed to waypoint; on your way you will be attacked by waves of 3 or 4 Tier 3 fighters and 1 Tier 4 ship:
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
- 1 Tier 4 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
or
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
- 2 Tier 3 Y-Wing "Rebel Y-Wing"
Proceed to waypoint and dock as fast as you can for if you kill one wave of ships more will just keep spawning. They spawn about 2 minutes apart.
Black Epsilon Command: The Lambda shuttle is on it's way now. Stand by until it has arrived at your location.
Communicator: I understand that you have something that HQ is very interested in taking a look at.
Communicator: Beginning docking procedures in order to get the Rebel officer's data.
Communicator: We have the data from the rebel officer. Command is very excited to get their hands on this information.
While docked, start hyperspace sequence for Yavin IV: Crimson Flare. This will lose the aggro of the fighters that spawned while you were docking.
Mission Alert: High command also wants a live body to confirm the rebel officer's data. You are going to have to capture a rebel officer and bring him back to HQ alive.
Yavin System: Capture a Rebel Y-wing[]
Description:
- Now that command has the Joint Operations Plan they will need a live body to question so they can compare the two. This will enable the Empire to determine what is real and what is false in the plan. Capture a Rebel pilot so he can be questioned. Fortunately the location of a Rebel Y-wing pilot was discovered while you were delivering the Joint Operations Plan.
Black Epsilon Command: Scanning system for known locations of Rebel officers. Prepare for interception once we have navigation waypoint.
Black Epsilon Command: Nav location to a Rebel officer sent to your computer. Intercept and capture that officer.
Once you are at Crimson Flare proceed to waypoint given. There will be 5 fighters:
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
- 2 Tier 3 Y-Wing "Rebel Y-Wing"
- 1 Tier 4 Y-Wing "Rebel Y-Wing Squad Leader"
Your objective is the Tier 4 Y-Wing.
Communicator: You can question me all you want! I will never talk!
Communicator: My ship is yours but you will never get what you want from me.
Once disabled, wait a few minutes and you will be updated to escorting it out of the system. At this point you can just do /follow and mission will be done shortly.
Communicator: They would destroy me rather then let me fall into enemy hands?
After about 2 minutes, you will be attacked by:
- Wave 1:
- 2 Tier 3 A-Wing "Rebel A-Wing"
- Wave 2:
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
You may ignore it or destroy it, either way you can complete the mission.
Communicator: Rebel officer is in the hands of the Inquisiton. We will confirm the information in the recovered data shortly.
Black Epsilon Command: The rebel scum is in our hands. It will not be long before he is begging to tell us all he knows. Come back home, pilot.
Rewards:
- Credits: 25000 credits
- 100 Imperial Faction Points
- A level 6 Rendili "K-Class" Weapon Capacitor.
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: I've seen worse - and I've seen better, too. If you want to stay with Black Epsilon, you'll need more skills.
PC: I think my mission was successful.
Haymir Rendundi: So you do. Well it is a good thing that we don't judge success on what you think. Fortunately we have both the operations plan and the Rebel officer.
PC: Did we find out how Nym and the Rebellion are working together?
Haymir Rendundi: You're just full of questions. But I suppose you are on the need-to-know list. Apparently there is a loose alliance between the Rebels and Nym that was forged by some Rebel officer. In exchange for Nym's help the Rebels are giving him a portion of the salvage. Fortunately for us, the deal is contingent on Nym not taking extensive losses.
PC: Why would Nym care about losses?
Haymir Rendundi: Apparently, Storm Squadron hit him pretty hard in the Lok system and he is still attempting to recover from that blow. We are currently working on ways to exploit his current timidness, because we feel that will be the key to causing the split.
PC: Why don't we just directly assault Nym's forces?
Haymir Rendundi: This is why we pay you to fly and not to think. A direct assault on Nym will have the desired effect but could also be costly for us as well. That is just the sort of advantage that the Rebels are waiting for. Sometimes the direct, kick down the door approach works just fine. But if you are going to learn anything from me, learn this...it is always better to have someone else do your dirty work for you.
PC: Yes, sir.
Haymir Rendundi: We will figure out how to split Nym and the Rebels, I assure you. But right now we need to focus on you. In order for you to be any use at all to me, you are going to need some training.
PC: What kind of training?
Haymir Rendundi: Today you will learn about advanced capability TIE vessels. When you're finished studying the data, come back and maybe I'll give you another mission.
Capture the Hutt Debris Smuggler[]
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: OK, junior, new mission. We have careful reviewed all of the data that you somehow managed to provide us, and we believe that we have a course of action that will cause Nym to withdraw his aid to the Rebellion in this sector.
PC: I am ready and willing, sir.
Haymir Rendundi: How did I know that you were going to say that? Remember how I mentioned that there were other pirates at work in this system? Of course you don't. Hutts, man...Hutts are also working on salvaging as much as they can get their hands on. It would appear that they have a deal with Nym and the Rebels not to get in each other's way. Well, that is about to change.
PC: I don't quite follow you.
Haymir Rendundi: It's so simple. We start a fight between the Hutts and Nym. The Hutts do our dirty work for us and suddenly it becomes too expensive for Nym to operate in this system. He cannot afford to fight with both the Empire and Hutts.
PC: How do we get those two factions to start fighting?
Haymir Rendundi: Glad you asked. First we are going to need one of the Hutt's smuggler ships. You will capture that ship for us. We will retrofit that vessel with a special sensor jammer that will increase its signature, masking other ships flying with it.
PC: So you want me to get you a Hutt smuggler?
Haymir Rendundi: Correct! And after you capture the ship we will need you to stir up Nym's gang a bit with some Hutt broadcasts. Then you will be traveling with the retrofitted vessel in order to destroy some of Nym's fighters.
PC: Ah, I see. With the enlarged signature it will appear that the Hutt vessel is destroying Nym's men.
Haymir Rendundi: I am surprised. You are a little brighter than you look..not much, but a little. If all goes well Nym's forces will retaliate on the Hutts, who will simply think that Nym has double-crossed them. And they in turn, will respond with force.
Yavin System: Capture the Hutt Debris Smuggler[]
Description:
- Black Epsilon has come up with a plan to cause Nym to break off his assistance of the Rebellion in the Yavin system. First old wounds between the Hutts and Nym must be opened up in order to cause the two sides to start fighting. You are to capture a Hutt vessel, which the Empire will retrofit with a minor signature jammer, and then use it to attack Nym's forces. This should cause Nym to retaliate and, therefore, starting a fight between the two pirate factions.
Hyperspace to the Smuggler's Run sector
Black Epsilon Command: We have a target Hutt ship. Getting lock now. Stand by to capture that craft.
Black Epsilon Command: Location to the Hutt smuggling ship sent to your nav computer. Capture and escort that craft for the Empire.
Capture the hutt debris smuggler. Proceed to waypoint where 5 Ships have spawned:
- 4 Tier 3 Scyk "Hutt Skiff"
- 1 Tier 3 Dunelizard "Hutt Debris Smuggler"
The Tier 3 Dunelizard is the objective you have to disable. Destroy the escort first;
Communicator: Jabba paid good money for those engines. He isn't going to be happy with either you or me.
Communicator: What do you want? I thought we had an understanding.
Black Epsilon Command: Sending surrender ultimatium to smuggler.
Communicator: Fine, fine. I will head to your coordinates. Just don't blow me up.
Black Epsilon Command: Smuggler has the coordinates they are going to fly to. Escort the ship safely through the sector.
After disabling wait for it to be taken over then you will have to escort it against:
- Wave 1:
- 4 Tier 3 Scyk "Hutt Fighter"
- Wave 2:
- 3 Tier 3 Dunelizard "Hutt Gunship"
- Wave 3:
- 3 Tier 3 Dunelizard "Hutt Gunship"
Communicator: I don't think they liked you capturing me.
Communicator: Steal Hutt property will you? I thought even Imperial knew better then that.
You may ignore or destroy which ever you choose.
Communicator: Hutt smuggler safely in Imperial hands.
Black Epsilon Command: Smuggler ship is in our hands. We will begin retrofitting it to suit our needs. Nice work, pilot.
Mission Alert: Prepare to start phase two of our operation. The Hutts and Nyms have made an agreement not to mess with each others territory. Head into Nym controlled space and start broadcasting on Hutt frequency. Nym's men should come swarming to protect their area.
Yavin System: Broadcasting in Nym's Space[]
Description:
- The next stage of the plan is to move into an area that the Hutts and Nym have agreed belongs to Nym. Once in this region you will begin transmitting Hutt signals. This will cause Nym to send his men in to investigate why a Hutt vessel is in his area. You are then to destroy as many of Nym's men as you can while continuing to broadcast. When enough of Nym's men have heard the broadcast, they should be very aggrevated and quite confused as to what the Hutts are doing.
Black Epsilon Command: Stand by to begin your transmission. Once that starts prepare for Nym's pirates to storm in. You will have to stay in the area until the entire broadcast is complete in order to get everyones attention.
Black Epsilon Command: Looks like you got the pirates attention. Defend yourself but do not leave the area.
Proceed to wapoint.
Black Epsilon Command: This is the location from which you should broadcast. This should get all of Nym's attention.
Here you will be attacked by 4 Waves of 4 Tier 3 fighters.
- Wave 1:
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 2 Tier 3 Kimogila "Nym Blastboat"
- Wave 2:
- 3 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- Wave 3:
- 2 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 2 Tier 3 Kimogila "Nym Blastboat"
- Wave 4:
- 3 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
Once mission is completed hyper to the Ferrous Aurora sector unless you want to continue to killl the rest of the fighters that spawned. If you chose to kill the fighters then proceed to next mission without hypering.
Black Epsilon Command: Broadcast complete. Interception of pirate chatter shows that you did gather alot of attention.
Mission Alert: The captured Hutt smuggler has been refit and set up on autopilot. We are going to fly it through Nym's space. Your fighter should be masked sufficently by the larger smuggler vessel that you will be able to strike at the pirates as they investigate the smuggler. This should convince Nym that the Hutts are behind all this.
Yavin System: Escort the Captured Hutt Freighter[]
Description:
- The captured Hutt ship has been retrofit with the signature jammer and autopilot system. The jammer will allow you to remain hidden by the ships signature. When Nym's men scan the area all they will see is the Hutt ship and not your TIE. We will move this ship through Nym's territory. Since they are already highly angered they are sure to try to retaliate on the Hutt vessel. You are to protect the vessel and destroy any who try to attack it.
Black Epsilon Command: We will send the ship in to these nav coordinates. Meet the ship there and escort it through Nym's sector.
Proceed to waypoint and meet the freighter.
Black Epsilon Command: Stand by for arrival of the drone vessel. Once it arrives begin to escort it through the Nym controlled sector.
Escort the Tier 3 Dunelizard.
Communicator: The Hutts have broken our agreement.
On the way you will run into 2 Waves of spawns each has 3 Tier 3 fighters and 1 Tier 4 fighter; you may ignore or kill them, either way you can complete the mission.
- Wave 1:
- 3 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Captain"
- Wave 2:
- 3 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Captain"
Black Epsilon Command: Nice work. Nym's pilots are in an uproar over the apparent attack on their ships by the Hutt smuggler.
Black Epsilon Command: Long range scans show that Nym's men are massing and preparing to attack the Hutts. Assist the Hutts in wiping out Nym's attack force.
Yavin System: Help the Hutts Battle Nym's Forces[]
Description:
- Remain in the Yavin system and help the Hutts beat Nym in a battle. You will receive a navigation waypoint to the place where the battle is going to take place. Travel to this location and wait for the arrival of the Hutts and Nym's men. When the battle is joined, assist the Hutts on destroying Nym's men before Nym's men can wipe out the Hutts. If all of the Hutts die then you will have lost the battle. Be very careful because the Hutts are not friendly and will fire on you.
Black Epsilon Command: Located coordinates of projected attack by Nym's forces. Assist the Hutt defenders in the area. Remember the Hutts are not friendlies and will fire on you. Do not destroy any of the Hutt defenders.
Proceed to waypoint where 4 Tier 4 Hutt fighters will spawn. They are attackable, but do not kill them.
Black Epsilon Command: The Hutt force has grouped and is waiting for Nym to attack.
Then 8 Tier 4 Nym fighters will spawn.
Black Epsilon Command: Nym's forces have jumped into the system. They are heading towards the Hutts at attack speeds.
Kill the Nym's not the Hutts:
- 7 Tier 4 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Captain"
This is a tough mission, one of the hardest I have seen with using level 5 equipment. Once all the nyms are destroyed return to base.
Black Epsilon Command: Nice work. Nym's forces have been wiped out. They will have to think twice about operating in this system with both the Imperial and Hutts fighting them. Make a full report back to your superior.
Rewards:
- Credits: 25000 credits
- 100 Imperial Faction Points
- A level 6 Sienar Fleet Systems Military Grade Droid Interface.
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: So you made it back in one piece. I would have thought the Hutts would be serving you for dinner right now. You don't know how glad that I am you survived.
PC: Why do I get the feeling that you are mocking me?
Haymir Rendundi: Because I am. Regardless, I am happy to report that our operation seems to have been a complete success. The Hutts are furious with Nym and are basically attacking his ships on sight. Nym's men are putting up a good defense but the Hutts are not under the same constraints as Nym. They are just tossing men at him in order to get revenge.
PC: Sounds like a beautiful thing, sir.
Haymir Rendundi: It sure is. 'Nothing better than accomplishing your goal and not having to pay any of the costs. Not only do we start breaking the bridge between Nym and the Rebels, but we also get to eliminate some Hutts in the process. I love it when a plan comes together.
PC: Hmmm, where have I heard that before?
Haymir Rendundi: What! Don't think about it too hard. You will damage what little you have left of your brain. And you are going to need it in order to receive your new training.
PC: What kind of training?
Haymir Rendundi: Today you will learn about advanced starship components. When you're finished studying the data, come back and maybe I'll give you another mission.
Rescue the Imperial Freighter[]
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: OK %TU - you're up. We just received word that one of our salvage transports was hit hard and left for dead. We have reason to believe that it was hit by a joint force of Nym's men and Rebels Alliance starfighters.
PC: I thought their alliance was shattered.
Haymir Rendundi: We caused some cracks that will grow in time, but I think if we hit it one more time we can break it apart now.
PC: So what is this have to do with that transport?
Haymir Rendundi: Intelligence doesn't believe that Nym approached the Rebellion. He is far too cautious for that. Reports from the inside suggest that a Rebel emissary met with Nym, and the pirate chief took such a liking to this Rebel that he agreed to help out. We figure if this emissary is eliminated, then Nym will back out of the agreement.
PC: Where can we find the emissary?
Haymir Rendundi: That is where the freighter comes in. Nym's men will not take orders from any member of the Rebellion regardless of the agreement. But they will follow anyone who Nym tells them too. In this case the only member of the Rebellion that we can see Nym having his men follow is this emissary. So if the freighter was hit by a joint attack of Rebels and Nym's men, then it was probably lead by the emissary.
PC: Ah, so the freighter might have some clue as to where the emissary went.
Haymir Rendundi: You earn your gold star for the day. Get out to that freighter, assist it with any repairs it might need, and escort it back to port. We can question the pilot and check its computer logs to see if we can get a lock on the emissary's ship. Dismissed.
Yavin System: Rescue the Imperial Freighter[]
Description:
- Travel to the Yavin system and rescue a damaged Imperial freighter. Once inside the system, you will receive a navigation waypoint to the freighter's location. The freighter is damaged and currently unable to move. You will need to travel to the freighter location and assist it with repairs. When you reach the freighter, target it and press the 'U' key or type /dock to assist it with repairs. Once the freighter is repaired, escort it through the system.
Black Epsilon Command: Getting nav location of the damaged freighter. We believe it knows the location of the Rebel emissary to Nym in this system. Stand by.
Hyperspace to Smuggler's Run sector. Proceed to waypoint where you will dock with an "Imperial Medium Freighter".
Black Epsilon Command: Freighter is attempting to initiate repairs. Stand by.
Communicator: Good to see you. I was hit by both rebel and Nym fighters. It looked like there was a Rebel command vessel coordinating the attack.
Black Epsilon Command: Freighter attempting to restart engines. Stand by to escort it to safety.
Communicator: Engines are back online. Hopefully we will not see any more of those joint attacks like the one that hit me.
Then escort the freighter. Enemy starfighters will spawn; you can just ignore and complete mission by escorting or kill it.
Communicator: I knew they would be back. Cover me!
- Wave 1:
- 1 Tier 3 Y-Wing "Nym Bomber"
- 3 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Captain"
- Wave 2:
- 4 Tier 3 A-Wing "Rebel A-Wing"
- 1 Tier 3 B-Wing "Rebel B-Wing"
- 1 Tier 3 Z-95 "Rebel Z-94"
Communicator: Wow, you are better then you look.
Black Epsilon Command: Freighter is away. Good work pilot. Stand by while we question the pilot.
Communicator: The pilot of the freighter informs us that the emissary is in the area and was part of the joint attack force that hit his vessel.
Mission Alert: The freighter captain gave us a good idea of where to look for the Rebel emissary. Stand by while we preform long range scans for his vessel.
Yavin System: Eliminate the Rebel Emissary[]
Description:
- Eliminate the Rebel emissary as he moves through the Yavin system. With the information on the attack gathered from the freighter, Black Epsilon has managed to determine where the Rebel emissary is. Without the Emissary the Rebels will have a hard time keeping Nym's support.
Black Epsilon Command: Scanning system for the emissary's ship. Stand by to proceed with destroying his ship.
Proceed to waypoint.
Black Epsilon Command: Nav location to the target vessel has been located. Proceed with extreme prejudice.
Here you will fight 1 tier 4 nova cruiser plus 7 Tier 3 escort fighters. May or may not want to bring help on this one.
- 3 Tier 3 A-Wing "Rebel A-Wing"
- 3 Tier 3 X-Wing "Rebel X-Wing"
- 1 Tier 3 B-Wing "Rebel B-Wing"
- 1 Tier 4 Nova Courier "Rebel Emissary"
Rewards:
- Credits: 25000 credits
- 100 Imperial Faction Points
- A level 6 Sienar Design Systems High-Output Reactor.
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: You have done a man's work today. Without the emissary, the Rebels do not have the only man in this operation that Nym trusts. This combined with the heavy fighting with the Hutts is sure to cause an impassable rift between the two.
PC: Are you sure about Nym's lack of resolve?
Haymir Rendundi: In this matter I would have to say yes. If nothing else Nym will probably remove his direct support of the Rebellion for the time being. And without Nym's support the Rebels once again find themselves at a major disadvantage. I think that the local security forces can handle the rest of the operation in Yavin.
PC: Do you think they will find out it was us?
Haymir Rendundi: I would be rather shocked if they didn't already know. I don't like Nym or the Hutts, but never assume that either group is stupid. The thing is that it doesn't matter. There is so much bad blood between the two groups that all they really needed was an excuse to start fighting. All they needed was a little push.
PC: You risked all your effort and planning on a hunch?
Haymir Rendundi: I wasn't really risking all that much... just you. If you failed then I would have simply started over with another angle. I took a minimal risk and received maximum gain, that is what being a great leader is all about. Now you are in need of training, are you not?
PC: What kind of training?
Haymir Rendundi: Today you will learn about special forces training. When you're finished studying the data, come back and maybe I'll give you another mission.
Capture the Nym Smuggler Transport[]
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: Maybe you've got what it takes, after all.
PC: Thanks.
Haymir Rendundi: Don't thank me yet. I haven't thrown you any curveballs - until now. Prepare to head for Lok.
PC: Why am I heading to Lok?
Haymir Rendundi: Let me use small words so you can understand. Lok is Nym's base of power. Nym was helping the Rebellion. The Empire cannot allow Nym to flaunt its authority like that. We are going to punish Nym.
PC: I like the sound of that.
Haymir Rendundi: So does the Emperor. Our goals will be to first take one of Nym's transport ships. They usually have detailed records of shipping lanes and that sort of thing in the Lok system. Once we have that we can find out where Nym's military forces are and hammer them with everything we got. Go capture and inspect me one of those transports.
Lok System: Capture the Nym Smuggler Transport[]
Description:
- Now that the alliance between the Rebels and Nym has been broken, it is time to punish Nym for crossing the Empire. Black Espilon will strike close to his home in the Lok system. Our first goal is to capture one of Nym's smugglers in the region in order to get information about his other vessels locations.
Black Epsilon Command: Scanning system for target of opportunity that we can capture. Stand by.
Hyperspace to Voria's Ember.
Black Epsilon Command: We have a lock on one of Nym's transport vessels that is a likely canidate. Capture and bring it back to a safe jump point. We will pick it up on our end.
2 Ships will spawn: a Tier 3 nova courier "Nym Smuggler Transport" that you are supposed to disable and 7 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter" that will attack once you get within range.
Communicator: You think that you are so smart, crippling me like that. One day I hope to return the favor.
Proceed to disable the nova courier.
Communicator: Listen, you may have gotten me and I will follow without anymore fight but you will regret this.
After being disabled, you will escort it. This is like most of the others, 1 ship will spawn, you can just ignore it. It spawns right at end of mission.
Communicator: Transport is safely in Imperial hands.
Black Epsilon Command: Nice work, pilot. We have the ship under our control. Our technicians are already sifting through it's logs.
Mission Alert: The transports logs indicate a location of a patrol ship that Nym has running checkpoints around the zone. Your job is to destroy that vessel.
Lok System: Destroy the Nym Patrol Craft[]
Description:
- Intercept and destroy the Nym Patrol Craft in the Lok system. Thanks to the information we gathered from the smuggler's vessel we have a lock on one of the craft Nym uses to patrol the Lok system. The patrol craft is a perfect target for our retribution on Nym.
Black Epsilon Command: Checking valid locations that we found in the transports logs for the patrol vessel. Stand by.
Black Epsilon Command: We have the patrol vessel's location. Intercept the vessel, destroy it, and all that fly with it.
Proceed to waypoint where you will be told to destroy 1 Tier 4 Nova Courier "Nym Patrol Craft" and 5 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer" escort fighters. Once the nova courier is destroyed, mission will be complete.
Mission Alert: Nym is sending out his fleet to intercept you. This is a perfect opportunity for us to hit his smuggling fleet. You have to keep his combat fleet busy while we hit the transports and freighters.
Lok System: Getting Nym's Attention[]
Description:
- Black Epsilon wants to get a crack at bombing Nym's freighters. They are heavily guarded but if you were to draw off the fighters we would be able to launch our attack. You are to begin a transmission of your presence far from the freighter fleet. You will have to remain in that area for a long time in order to get the attention of Nym's fighters. You will most likely get a lot of attention but with any luck you will be able to pull the escorts away from the freighters and we can hit that fleet with our bombers.
Black Epsilon Command: Travel to the location supplied to your navigation computer. This is far enough away that Nym's fighters will not be able to make it back to protect their freighters until it is too late.
Proceed to waypoint.
Black Epsilon Command: Stand by at this location. Nym's pirates are on an interception course.
Black Epsilon Command: Keep your eyes peeled. Enemy fighters are heading right at you.
You will have to defend that area for about 10 minutes from 5 waves of fighters each having 1 tier 4 fighter and 4 tier 3 fighters.
- Wave 1:
- 4 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- Wave 2:
- 4 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- Wave 3:
- 4 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- Wave 4:
- 4 Tier 3 X-Wing "Nym Enforcer"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- Wave 5:
- 4 Tier 3 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
- 1 Tier 4 Z-95 "Nym Fighter"
Black Epsilon Command: Our mission was a complete success. Nym's smuggler fleet has been sustained heavy loses.
Mission Alert: Nym has been sent a message and it is time for you to put the period on it. Nym received a gift from his Rebel friends in the form of a ship. Your assignment is to destroy that ship.

Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: That felt good, didn't it? I can just imagine Nym squirming in his Stronghold. Probably cursing the day that emissary convinced him to help the Rebellion.
PC: What if he tries to get revenge?
Haymir Rendundi: Oh, no! I didn't think of that. Big, bad Nym is coming to get me. If you are afraid of making enemies you should have become a moisture farmer. You are an Imperial pilot in the Imperial Navy, most of the galaxy already hates you. What is one more? Punish them before they punish you, that's what I say.
PC: Good philosophy.
Haymir Rendundi: See, you do still have something to learn from me. Now, are you ready for training?
PC: What kind of training?
Haymir Rendundi: Today you will learn about system balance programming. When you're finished studying the data, come back and maybe I'll give you another mission.
Haymir Rendundi will send you to Dantooine Imperial Outpost to go speak with Insurgent for your next assignments.
Conversation with Haymir Rendundi[]
Haymir Rendundi: Well %TU, I've had about enough of you. Time to hand you off.
PC: What's my next assignment?
Haymir Rendundi: From now on, you'll be reporting to someone named Insurgent. And I thought YOU had a ridiculous name the first time we met.
PC: Who's that?
Haymir Rendundi: I have absolutely no idea. He showed up here today and tossed an Imperial order on my desk. And wouldn't you know it that order was signed by the Emperor himself.
PC: What did the order say?
Haymir Rendundi: The order simply read, 'Obey this man as you would obey me'. As far as I can tell it is completely legit. Then that Insurgent fellow told me that I was to transfer you over to his command immediately.
PC: He asked for me by name?
Haymir Rendundi: I don't know what he wants with you and frankly I wasn't about to ask. There was something about him that made me feel real uneasy. Regardless he told me that you were to meet him at the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine and then jumped in his ship and took off. I suggest that you don't keep him waiting. I get the feeling that he isn't someone who likes to be kept waiting. You are dismissed.
