The Foreman Quest a.k.a “Alum Mineral Quest”[]

This quest begins at the bottom of the Death Watch Bunker, and its reward, the Alum Minerals is a required components to craft a Mandalorian armor part or a Jetpack.
This reward can be obtained (once quest successfully completed) every three days just by talking with Japer Witter (the Foreman).

This quest can be completed by a single player in a group at a time.

Japer Witter[]

Japer Witter

Japer Witter

After having made your way with a group to the Mine level of the Bunker, locate the Japer Witter (a miner foreman): point n°30 on Map. The first person in group who should do the quest should talk to him first.

Conversation with Japer Witter (a miner foreman)[]

Japer Witter: Hey, what are you doing down here? You shouldn't be walking around down here unless you are working or the Mandalorians authorized you to be here and you certainly don't have the look of a miner.
PC: You work for the Mandalorians?
Japer Witter: Work in the loosest sense of the word. Although we are not really getting a whole lot of work done at this moment.
PC: What sort of work are you doing?
Japer Witter: We mine for the alum that the Mandalores use to make their armor. Basically, we get to work down in these nasty caves all day long so the Mandalorians can look nice.
PC: Sounds fun. But didn't you say you weren't getting much done?
Japer Witter: It's this blasted laser they have us working with. Dumb thing never works right and then when we finally did get it working again, Haldo went off his rocker, ripped its battery out, and took off with it.
PC: Haldo? Who is Haldo and why would he take the battery?
Japer Witter: Haldo was one of the men on my crew. My guess is that his rebreather wasn't working properly and he breathed too much of the alum fumes. Blasted air vents haven't been working right either, so we have been using our masks a lot.
PC: Maybe I can help you track down Haldo.
Japer Witter: That would be a lifesaver. No one else is willing to go out and try to find him. Guys who get hit with alum sickness generally are unstable and sometimes can be quite dangerous.
PC: If he is sick is there anyway to help him?
Japer Witter: Yeah, well there is a cure. We would have gone and got it, but the Mandalorians don't much care for us wandering around when we are supposed to be working, so none of us have gone up to get it.
PC: Where can I find this cure?
Japer Witter: It is located upstairs in the medical lab. One of the medical droids should be able to give it to you. They don't require any special code or anything to help you out. At least they didn't last time I used them, but the Mandalorians don't really consult us when they make changes to things around here.
PC: Ok I will go see what I can do for your co-worker.
Japer Witter: That is the best news that I have heard all day. If you get that battery come on back to me and I will see about getting this drill back online.

Japer Witter will ask you to go talk to Haldo.

Haldo[]

He is a crazed Miner suffering from Alum mineral sickness.
To locate him use a “/target Haldo” command. He has several spawn location possible. He is near Map Point n°32 however.

Haldo (a crazed miner) spawn with a red dot status, so he should be attacked to make him turn white. Once this is done the player with the quest should talk to him.

Conversation with Haldo (a crazed miner)[]

Haldo: My head! I cannot think straight. Please get me some help before I hurt anyone...it has to be alum sickness!
PC: Alum sickness? What can I do to help you?
Haldo: The medical droid upstairs? Yes! The medical droid has the antidote. I need it...I must have some before it is to late.
PC: Don't worry I will go get you some right now.
Haldo: Please hurry! I don't know how much longer I can hold onto my sanity. If I don't get that medicine quick I am going to lose control.

Haldo will ask your help and you will have to find a cure for him. For this you need to visit the Medical droid at point n°6 on map. This part of the quest has a 1 hour timer.

Medical Droid[]

Just talk with the Medical droid and get the Alum Mineral sickness Cure.

Alum sickness cure

Alum sickness cure

Conversation with G12-4J (a medical droid)[]

G12-4J: Welcome. I am medical droid designation G12-4J. How may I be of service to you?
PC: I need some medicine to cure alum sickness.
G12-4J: Alum sickness cure has been issued. Please administer to the subject directly and allow for medicine to take effect. Resume normal, unpolluted breathing or alum sickness may return. Thank you.

Then return with the cure to Haldo. NOTE: After speaking with the medical droid, you only have one hour to return to haldo or you must talk with the droid again.

Return to Haldo[]

Talk to Haldo and give him the cure.

Conversation with Haldo (a crazed miner)[]

Haldo: You are back. Please tell me that you have the medicine. I am really struggling to keep my sanity right now and that medicine is my only hope.
PC: Yes I have it. Here you go.
Haldo: Thank you, thank you. You have saved my life. I should be fine with just a little rest. Please take this back to my foreman. I took it in my dementia.

Industrial Battery Pack

Industrial Battery Pack

He will offer you a dirty Battery in return. Return the Dirty Battery to Japer Witter.

Return to Japer Witter[]

Back to Japer he will see that the Battery you have is dirty and that it needs to be cleaned.

Conversation with Japer Witter (a miner foreman)[]

Japer Witter: Thank you for helping Haldo and getting the battery back for us. Now we can get back to....oh no! The battery's connections are all covered with dirt and grime. Haldo must have got them dirty after he took it.
PC: What happens if the battery connections are dirty?
Japer Witter: We won't get a good solid connection and the drill won't fire is what will happen. I hate to ask but could you perhaps take this battery over to the workshop and have one of treadwell clean it up?
PC: Sure, I will come back to you as soon as I get it cleaned.
Japer Witter: You know I can't thank you enough. Without your help there is no way we could get this job completed on time.

Japer ask you then to go the Workshop droid (a Treadwell droid) at point n° 5 on Map and get it back to him afterwards.

Workshop droid[]

Just talk to the Workshop Droid and you will get a clean Battery.

Japer Witter again[]

Just return to Japer.

Conversation with Japer Witter (a miner foreman)[]

Japer Witter: Hey you are back. I was sort of half expecting you not to return. Oh yeah, this is excellent. The battery is clean and ready to be installed in the drill. And you didn't destroy the treadwell...that's a plus. Unfortunately there is one other issue that we are having.
PC: Let me guess. It's something that your guys can't do either.
Japer Witter: No need to be sarcastic. The Mandalorians keep us under a pretty tight watch down here. They don't really trust anyone who isn't Mandalorian and then they will only partially trust you.
PC: What is the other problem with the drill?
Japer Witter: The drill uses a liquid coolant system in order to keep it from overheating and exploding. Well the problem is that we are not getting any pressure down here so if we turn on the drill...BOOM!
PC: What do you need in order to get water pressure down here?
Japer Witter: Upstairs there is a pump room. There are four pumps that all need to be on in order to get the water down to us. Unfortunately the circuit breakers on those things are all ancient and trip at the slightest surge. If you could maybe go up there and turn them all on for us I know we could get underway.
PC: Ok fine I will do this for you but you are going to owe me.
Japer Witter: Deal. Now listen those pumps can be tricky. Generally when you trip one of the valves it causes the one or ones next to it on the circuit to flip as well. You will have to play with it for a while in order to get them all online. Also we really don't have a lot of time so if you are not back soon I am going to have to see if there is anything else I can do to get it on.

Japer will thank you for returning him the clean Battery and will explain you that the Alum mineral sickness problem may be resolved by reactivating the Water Pumps. Those are located at points n°13,14,15 and 16 on Map.

The Water pumps[]

A Water Pressure Valve Control

A Water Pressure Valve Control

Entering the Water pumps room you will find 4 terminals on the walls. Use all 4 terminals so that they are all activated. This may take some time as they may switch to another status while you use one terminal. When all 4 water pumps are correctly functioning you will receive a message saying :
"Water pressure has been restored to the Mines".

Japer Witter end of Quest[]

Alum Minerals

Alum Minerals

Once you have done with the Water pumps you can return to Japer Witter and get your reward, an Alum Minerals crate.

Conversation with Japer Witter (a miner foreman)[]

Japer Witter: I don't know how you managed to get those pumps working without the Mandalorians taking you out. You must be a lot tougher then you look. I can't thank you enough for all your help.
PC: How about a reward?
Japer Witter: We don't really have a whole lot to give but I will tell you what. I can sneak you some of this ore that we are mining. Now before you get all mad about just getting ore let me tell you that this is the stuff that the Mandalores use in their armor.
PC: You make Mandalorian armor out of this ore?
Japer Witter: Hey all I know is that this stuff is used in the making of the armor. They keep a pretty tight watch on how much of this stuff we mine, but I know I can sneak you some every now and again. Here you go. If you check back with me occasionally, I should be able to sneak you out some more. Not too often mind you, but I will do my best.

You may ask another quest every 60 hours (2 1/2 days), just by talking to Japer...
