Talk to the Structure's Occupant[]
A secluded home in a mountain valley
The occupant of the mountain house, Jareck Arned, likes to keep to himself, but claims to know nothing about the missing hikers.
Conversation with Jareck Arned[]
Jareck Arned: What are you doing in my house?
PC: I'm investigating the disappearance of some hikers.
Jareck Arned: I came out here to be away from people. Do you see them around here?
PC: Can I take a look around?
Jareck Arned: On whose authority?
PC: CorSec. I'm working on behalf of Commander Talte.
Jareck Arned: Oh...him. If you must. Just don't break anything. I try to avoid town when possible. I like the quiet of the outdoors.
PC: May I get a scan of your fingerprints?
Jareck Arned: If it will get you out of my house faster, yes.
Jareck Arned agrees to provide his fingerprints and says you can look around the place, but Commander Talte contacts you and says that that is not necessarily a sign of innocence.
Commander Talte: He seems compliant, but I've known many criminals that are. He gave you permission to search the place. Look around for oddities. There may be some kind of personal possession from the missing hikers.
Search the House for Clues[]
Commander Talte suggests you look around the house for anything that might seem out of place - particularly items that might have belonged to the lost hikers.
As a matter of fact, there are some odd items in the house:

You take images of these, and Talte contacts you to say that he will ask Angela if any of them are familiar to her. Meanwhile, he asks you to talk to the hermit until he can get back to you.
Commander Talte: I'll show these images to Angela and see if she recognizes anything. Talk to the man again and keep him busy until I get back to you.
