The remote world of Dantooine was once home to an early Rebel Alliance base. When interrogated by Grand Moff Tarkin, Princess Leia Organa lied to him, disclosing the location of the then-current base as Dantooine. Its distance spared it from being made an example of the Death Star's powerful superlaser cannon. Nonetheless, Imperial scout ships reconnoitered Dantooine, only to find the long-abandoned remains of a Rebel base. Enraged at this news, Tarkin ordered Organa to be terminated immediately.

Dantooine is a tranquil world whose inhabitants remain largely unaware of the isolated incidents when the planet drew any sort of galactic attention. The planet is almost entirely undeveloped, an unspoiled world wrapped in clean oceans, with its exposed land covered by olive-hued steppes and open savannahs of lavender grasses. Two moons orbit Dantooine.

The planet is rich with life, with the primitive hunter-gatherer [[Dantari]] -- thick-bodied humanoids who roam the coastal shores -- representing the height of technological evolution. Other life-forms on Dantooine include the balloon-like fabool creatures and stalker lizards.

Thousands of years ago in the distant past, Dantooine was open to colonization. Isolated family estates dedicated mostly to agriculture arose, but the population density of Dantooine remained extremely low. The Aratach Corporation established an outpost there over four thousand years ago, and erected a small spaceport to handle imports for local merchants.

Also at this time, Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Bass established a training center among the tranquil and mysterious ruins found on Dantooine. For generations, this praxeum trained many notable Jedi Padawans, including future Sith Lord, Exar Kun. Though it survived the Great Sith War, the praxeum was razed to the ground by Darth Malak in the decades that followed.

In modern times, only a few isolated ranches remain. During the Clone Wars, the Separatists attempted to conquer Dantooine to keep the Republic from using it as a staging point to blockade Muunilinst. Jedi Master Mace Windu was able to rid Dantooine of its Confederacy presence.

Because of its remote location and small native population, the planet once housed the Rebel Alliance's primary base. Unfortunately, the Rebels grew complacent on the tranquil world and allowed an Imperial tracking device to infiltrate the base in a cargo shipment. When the threat was discovered, the Rebels evacuated Dantooine in a single day.

Seven years after the Battle of Endor, colonists from the doomed world of Eol Sha were relocated to Dantooine to carve out a new life. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker suggested the world to the colonists as a new haven. Unfortunately, Imperial warlord Admiral Daala discovered the Dantooine colony, and unleashed an army of AT-AT walkers and ground troops to destroy it.

During the Yuuzhan Vong crisis, Dantooine again was the site of violence. Yuuzhan Vong forces followed refugees from Dubrillion to Dantooine, and sent an army of slave soldiers to attack them.

Dantooine is an unspoilt planet dominated by sprawling purple grasslands. The native species, the Dantari, live along the coasts and rarely pose a threat to players unless provoked. Although they are primitive, they are, in an evolutionary sense, Dantooine's highest native life from.. Much of the planet's wilderness is comprised of peculiarly shaded purple fields. Despite this, Dantooine is one of the more adventurous and dangerous planets due to its wildlife and inhabitants. Only three small outposts are on the planet.

Although it's the home of the "Abandoned" Rebel base, Dantooine is mostly known for its hunting. From newbies to veterans often gather at the Pirate Outpost in order to find and/or form groups. But, your character also has to be careful, because in addition to the Bol, Piket, and Thune, the planet is also home to such dangerous creatures such as the Graul and even has random spawnings of Dark Jedi.

Players can place houses on Dantooine, as they can on Lok. These two planets similar to "pre-advanced" planets that can help prepare players for the dangers of Yavin 4, Endor, and Dathomir. Although walking about in the Dantooinian wilderness is not as dangerous as it is in Lok, there are many places, particularly in caves, that are much more dangerous than Lok and should be explored with great caution. Like Lok, it is similar to a transition between the starting worlds and the advanced worlds due to players' ability to place houses, but lack of substantial cities.

Some interesting areas on Dantooine include The Warren , the Abandoned Rebel Base, and the Dantari Rock Village.

NPC cities

Dantooine lacks real cities, and only sports three small outposts. These are the Dantooine Imperial Outpost, the Dantooine Mining Outpost , and the Dantooine Pirate Outpost. Architecture

Dantooine has no real buildings, aside from the ones in the outposts, so its architectural style can be considered generic. This style is available on all planets that accept player buildings. Player houses and buildings on Dantooine can be built in Naboo and Tatooine styles, however.

Landscape and weather

Dantooine is full of large oceans and huge purple fields. Some mountains are present, as well as trees. The sky is a uniform shade of blue. However, its landscape has is generally uninteresting.
