Pilot Missions

Captain Dennar has a series of 4 quests (1.1 - 1.4). Within each quest, there are multiple tasks to complete. Fail on any task and you will need to head back to Captain Denner to re-obtain the quest and start over.

You will find this series of quests the most challenging thus far as they will make you prove yourself as a combat pilot and test your ability to properly prepare for battle. You will find yourself making tough decisions while trying to balance fire power, survivability and maneuverability within your load-out. Your brand new TIE Bomber or TIE Interceptor may not be the best choice for these quests (hint) (Another Hint: Don't know who wrote that but they forgot that you wont have the certification for either the Bomber or Interceptor at the start of this mission).

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Field Commander Alozen tells me that you're ready to serve under my command. We will see, won't we?
PC: Yes, SIR!
Captain Denner: I think that you and I are going to get along just splendidly. From what I understand you have the makings of a very fine pilot, %NU.
PC: What is Storm Squadron's next assignment?
Captain Denner: Direct and to the point, I like it. Storm Squadron has been personally chosen by the Emperor to head security for a most important and secret project in the Endor system. We are beginning our move out of the Yavin system but have not yet set up a base of operations in Endor. Command will still be stationed on Yavin 4 for the time being.
PC: I am honored to serve under the Emperor's Hand.
Captain Denner: Good! Then we will not have any problems understanding one another. Our mission is highly important and the Emperor has placed his faith in us. We will not fail.
PC: Direct me and I shall succeed.
Captain Denner: As I said before we will be running security detail in the Endor system for a project that has been sealed to the throne. To my understanding there will be numerous engineers, supply freighters, and command vessels will need protection from any interference. On top of that the entire system must be kept under quarantine to avoid any word of the project from reaching the outside.
PC: What does sealed to the throne mean?
Captain Denner: Sealed to the throne basically means that all project information about Endor is on a need to know basis. Usually only a few top personnel even know entirely what is happening when something is sealed to the throne. Everyone is told only enough to do their jobs. Of course that doesn't mean we cannot speculate, just be sure to keep your speculation to yourself.
PC: I see. About my assignment?
Captain Denner: Your first assignment will be the protection of engineers being transferred from the Yavin salvage operation. You are to meet their shuttle in the Endor system and escort them safely through the area until they reach system headquarters.
PC: You can count on me, sir! They will arrive safely.
Captain Denner: That is what I wanted to hear. Good luck, %NU.

Endor System: Escort the Engineer's Transport

Description:

The Empire has started a major undertaking in the Endor system. They have not been forthcoming with details about what they are doing, but they have a need for materials and manpower. Storm Squadron has been placed in charge of system security. Your first mission is to escort a shuttle of engineers coming from the Yavin salvage operation through the Endor system.

Hyperjump to Endor system "Durillium Sea" Meet with the Transport and escort it, you will meet several waves.

Endor System: Capture the Engineer Transport Under Rebel Control

Description:

The shuttle you were protecting was not the only transport attacked. Rebels have taken another shuttle that was coming in from the Yavin system. The transport is still inside the Endor system. You must rescue the transport and the engineers on board.

The Transport has fallen under Rebel control ! You have to capture it... You may encounter some opposition:

Hyper to Area D-435.

• 4 Tier 3 A-wing
• 1 Tier 3 Engineer Transport

Disable the Transport and wait for the crew to take control of the Bridge, then you will need to escort it safely.

You will receive a new mission afterwards:

Endor System: Inspect the Rebel Advanced Recon Fighter

Description:

Remain in the Endor system and inspect a Rebel Advanced Recon fighter that was noticed on scanners during your last mission. You need to find out why the Rebels are in this system and how they knew about the Imperial engineers' shuttles.

It is a modified A-wing, just disable, inspect and dock with it.

Endor System: Rescue the Imperial Freighter

Description:

Remain in the Endor system and rescue a damaged Imperial freighter. Once inside the system, you will receive a navigation waypoint to the freighter's location. The freighter is damaged and currently unable to move. You will need to travel to the freighter's location and assist it with repairs. When you reach the freighter, target it and press the 'U' key or type /dock to assist it with repairs. Once the freighter is repaired, escort it through the system.

You have to reach a Freighter and Dock with it for repairs. 4 tier 4 Z-95's will attack you while docking, hold them off till the freighter escapes

You will be asked to escort the repaired Freighter. Encounter:

Your next mission:

Endor System: Deliver Encrypted Rebel Data to Command Shuttle

Description:

Remain in the Endor system and deliver the encrypted Rebel data to a command shuttle. You will receive a navigation waypoint to arrival location of the command shuttle. Travel to that location and wait for the shuttle to arrive. Once it arrives, target the shuttle and press the 'U' key to transfer the data to it.

On the way you will encounter:

• 4 Tier 3 A-wing (The waves will continue to spawn in groups of 4 in time based intervals until you head to the shuttle)

Head to the Command ship and Dock with it You will be attacked by waves of:

• 4 Tier 3 A-wing

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Good to see that you are back. We have a mess on our hands right now. Reports are coming in from all over the Endor system that Rebels have been spotted in almost every quadrant.
PC: What is the plan?
Captain Denner: We are working on that. Right now what we have Intelligence focused on deciphering that data you recovered from the Rebel scout. Once we have that information we should have a better idea of how to proceed. While we are waiting for that we need you to get your skills up to speed.
PC: In what shall I be trained?
Captain Denner: We shall begin your training in the use of advanced capability TIE vessels. When you're done, you'll be ready for a new mission.

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Nice, timing. I was just about to send for you. We have work to do.
PC: I am ready, sir.
Captain Denner: Intelligence has finished decrypting the data that you recovered from that Rebel scout. The data only included the operational status of a few of the Rebels in the area but it was enough to give us an idea of what the Rebels are doing in this area.
PC: What did they find out?
Captain Denner: Somehow the Rebels have gotten word of what is going on here. We don't believe that they have the complete story, but they are aware that the Empire is working on a top secret project in the Endor system. They also are aware that engineers working on the Yavin salvage operation are being transferred to the Endor system. It would seem they were trying to capture a few of them in order to discover the exact nature of the project.
PC: So they are not yet aware of what the Empire is doing?
Captain Denner: Not yet. But if we don't put a lid on this it is very likely that they will shortly. We need to find out more about what the Rebels are planning. That is where you come in.
PC: What is it you need me to do?
Captain Denner: We have placed out a number of barrier satellites around the Endor system. They are designed to track the movements of any vessels that move to close to them. They have recorded a few Rebel fighters moving and fortunately for us another of the Rebel scouts.
PC: I take it you want me to inspect that scout as well?
Captain Denner: Naturally. That scout probably contains another piece of the puzzle. If we can gather enough information on the Rebel operation then we will be able to plug this leak. Unfortunately, the Rebel will always know about the Imperial project in the Endor system but we can stop them from finding out what it is.
PC: I am ready, sir.
Captain Denner: We will update you to the location of the new Rebel scout as soon as you are in the Endor system. Remember a lot is riding on your success. Good luck, %NU.

Endor System: Inspect Another Rebel Advanced Recon Fighter

Description:

Travel to the Endor system and inspect another Rebel Advanced Recon fighter. Command needs more details as to the Rebel operation in the system. Intelligence has a lock on the location of another Rebel Advanced Recon fighter that seems to be a good target.

Head to the given location (Area D-435 is closest hyperspace point) and destroy opponents:

• 4 Tier 4 X-wing.

Then you can disable your Mission target:

• 1 Tier 3 A-wing "Rebel Advanced Recon Fighter".

Inspect and then Dock it. The Rebels will then immediately attack you!

Endor System: Rebel Counterstrike

Description:

The Rebels have sent out a strike team in retaliation for the loss of their scout. Destroy all the Rebel fighters.

Survive the surprise attack

• 5 Tier 3 A-wing.

Your next mission will be to

Endor System: Inspect the Rebel Scout Shuttle

Description:

It would seem that the Rebels didn't expect you to survive their trap. There is one of their scout shuttles nearby that was coordinating the attack. Chances are good that they have the information we are after on that craft. Disable and inspect that vessel.

Head to the waypoint (near Red Sin Chimaera) and destroy its escort:

• 2 Tier 3 Z-95
• 1 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 3 Y-wing

which respawn fast ! Disable the Shuttle and Dock it:

• A Tier 3 unarmed Light Freighter "Rebel Scout Shuttle".

You can proceed to the following mission:

Endor System: Dropoff the Rebel Data

Description:

Remain in the Endor system and drop off the Rebel data to a command shuttle. They are sending the shuttle to pick up the plans from you.

Head to Area D-435. You will be attacked on your way by:

• 1 Tier 4 X-wing
• 2 Tier 3 X-wing

Meet the Imperial shuttle and Dock with it to transfer the Data. Another wave will attack you:

• 1 Tier 4 X-wing
• 2 Tier 3 X-wing

Endor System: Patrol the Endor System

Description:

Command wants you to patrol the area looking for Rebel activity while they inspect the data you recovered.

It is a classic Patrol mission, just go from one waypoint to the next... You will receive a message announcing a Battle, just join your Brothers in Blasters:

Endor System: Battle the Rebel Forces

Description:

Remain in the Endor system and help our TIE wing beat the Rebels in a battle. You will receive a navigation waypoint to the place where the battle is going to take place. Travel to this location and wait for the arrival of the TIEs and Rebels. When the battle is joined, assist the TIE wing with destroying the Rebel force before the Rebels can wipe out the TIE wing. If all of the TIEs die then you will have lost the battle.

You will receive the help of 6 Tier 3 TIE Interceptors to fight:

• 4 Tier 3 A-wing
• 4 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 4 X-wing
• 1 Tier 3 YKL-37r Nova Courier

Once they are all defeated you can return to Captain Denner.

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Welcome back. You have successfully managed to retrieve the information from the Rebel command vessel, as well as, save the 3rd TIE Wing from destruction. A very nice days work if I say so myself.
PC: It was nothing. Just doing my job, sir.
Captain Denner: Regardless, you have made Storm Squadron look very good to our superiors.
PC: What did we find out from the Rebel information?
Captain Denner: That is still being examined by Intelligence. We should have more answers soon. Once we have all of it compiled we will be sending you out again. Hopefully with more direction this time around. Until then let us see what we can do to get you better prepared for your next assignment.
PC: In what shall I be trained?
Captain Denner: We shall begin your training in the use of advanced starship components. Afterwards, report to me when you're ready for the next step.

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: %NU, I am glad to see you are back. We have completed our evaluation of the reports you took off of the Rebel command vessel. Based off of what we have found, I believe I have devised a way to bring the Rebel menace out into the open.
PC: I am ready to crush the Rebels, sir.
Captain Denner: If my plan works then you will have your opportunity. From the reports you recovered we discovered that the Rebels were given access to our security frequency. They have been listening in on our chatter and have been using what they heard from us to help plan their attacks.
PC: The traitor again?
Captain Denner: Of course. Although this is not all bad now that we know about the leak. My plan involves using this leak in order to draw the Rebels out.
PC: What is the plan, sir?
Captain Denner: First, we will need to inform Endor about our intentions. Because the Rebels are listening into our communications we will have to send the plans to them on your vessel. Once they have the plans we will send out a message about a shuttle carrying top secret documents on its way through the Endor system.
PC: Is it wise to tell the Rebellion that we are sending top secret documents?
Captain Denner: The documents will be fake. We are counting on the Rebels attacking the shuttle, which you will be escorting. If we can make this look real to them by killing enough of their fighters, it will cause them to want to find out what we are fighting so hard to protect. When the time is right, the shuttle will pretend to make a run for it and allow itself to be captured. The Rebels will find the fake documents and they will be ours.
PC: Oh, of course I knew that.
Captain Denner: Of course you did. The documents will have coordinates to a supposed command station. If all goes well the Rebels will take the bait and attack in force. They will not find any station at that location but they will find you. You are to keep the fighters occupied while we scan the surrounding area for the Rebel command.
PC: If we find it, should it be destroyed?
Captain Denner: No. We still do not know everything that the traitor has given to the Rebellion. Without that information the Rebels could simply send in another command ship and we would be right back to where we are now. But we will keep track of the vessel until we can decide how best to proceed.
PC: Understood. I am ready to begin, sir.
Captain Denner: Excellent. We are sending the plans on Lambda shuttle to the Endor system. Meet up with the shuttle and transfer them to your craft. Then drop them off at Endor control. Once that is done the real operation can begin. Good luck to you, %NU.

Endor System: Delivering a New Plan

Description:

Travel to the Endor system, pickup, and deliver the plan to draw the Rebels out of hiding. Once you arrive in the Endor system, you will receive a navigation waypoint to the delivery shuttle. Travel to this location and wait for it to arrive. Once it arrives, target it and press the 'U' key to transfer the plans to your ship. Then you will receive a second navigation waypoint to the pickup vessel. Travel to this location and wait for the arrival of the shuttle. Target and press the 'U' key to transfer the plans to this new shuttle.

Travel to Endor - Red Sin Chimaera. Meet the delivery shuttle and dock with it. You will be attacked on your way by:

• 2 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 4 X-wing

Then:

Kill 6 Rebel Fighters

If you keep a wave up while docking with the Lambda shuttle, wait for the mission update. Those ships count, and you won't need to search for as many Rebel ships.

Then proceed to next step...

Endor System: Destroy Four Rebel Fighter Waves

Description:

The fake orders have been planted on this decoy shuttle. You are to follow the shuttle until the Rebels attack. You are going to have to make the Rebels believe that the shuttle contains highly important information. In order to do this, you need to destroy at least four waves of enemy fighters before they either destroy the decoy shuttle or the decoy shuttle reaches the end of its designated path.

You are asked to meet a Lambda Decoy Shuttle to Dock with to give them the false Plans. Escort it afterwards.

You will be attacked by waves of:

• 2 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 3 B-wing

*Note: In order to beat this mission, you must kill each wave before the next wave starts.

Then the Lambda Decoy Shuttle will jump and let you take your next assignment:

Endor System: Destroy the Rebel Strikeforce

Description:

Destroy the Rebel A-wings that have been sent to eliminate you. Making sure that they are all eliminated will help in selling the deception.

Simply destroy:

• 6 Tier 3 A-wing.

You are sent to your next mission:

Endor System: Scanning System for Rebel Command

Description:

Travel to the Endor system and start the system scan at the ambush point. When you enter the Endor system you will receive a navigation waypoint to the ambush point. Travel to this waypoint and wait for the scan to begin. In order to succeed, you need to stay near the navigation waypoint. If you move too far away you will receive a warning message for you to return. Once the scan begins the Rebels will send out fighters to attack you. Defend yourself against attack but do not leave the area until the scan is completed.

Travel to the Ambush point and wait until Scan is 100%. You will be attacked by several waves:

• 4 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 4 X-wing

Then come:

• 4 Tier 3 Z-95
• 1 Tier 4 Z-95

Then:

• 4 Tier 3 A-wing
• 1 Tier 4 A-wing

After come:

• 4 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 4 B-wing

Then a mix of:

• 2 Tier 3 X-wing
• 2 Tier 3 A-wing
• 1 Tier 3 YKL-37r Nova Courier

After:

• 4 Tier 3 X-wing
• 1 Tier 4 X-wing

Captain Denner: Now that we have a lock on the Rebel command vessel the time has come for us to start flexing our muscles, so to speak.
PC: I couldn't agree more, sir.
Captain Denner: Even though we are still looking for the clues as to how much information the Rebellion has been given by the traitor, we have allowed the Rebels to run rampant through out the Endor system for long enough. We need to start reducing their numbers before they get out of control.
PC: So we still have not been able to find the traitor?
Captain Denner: The Inquisition has not given us an update on their progress. That is not really a surprise. They tend to dislike sharing information with other branches. I can only hope that they stop the traitor from committing more acts of treason.
PC: What is it you want me to do, sir?
Captain Denner: You are to travel to Endor and start culling the number of Rebel fighters in the system. There is a flight of X-wing that we have been tracking for sometime that I want you to destroy. I have sent other Storm Squadron pilots out on similar missions so if you can take out that flight of Rebel fighters we should have their numbers reduced to a manageable amount.
PC: I will not fail you.
Captain Denner: I know you will not. I have every faith in your ability to handle the Rebels. You are dismissed, pilot.

Endor System: Destroy the Rebel X-wing Squadron

Description:

We have a lock on the Rebel command vessel, but the time has not yet come to attack it. We still do not know exactly what the Rebels are doing in this system. But command wants to start culling the number of Rebels in the system. There is a Rebel X-wing squadron traveling through the Endor system. Intercept and destroy the entire squadron.

Sector: Empire's Justice.

The Squadrons is composed of:

• 6 Tier 3 X-wing.

After this you will be sent for a Rescue:

Endor System: Rescue the Imperial Lambda Shuttle

Description:

The Rebels have attacked one of our command shuttles. The first wave of the Rebel fighters has crippled the shuttle and another wave of fighters is on its way. Travel to the shuttle, assist it with repairs, and help it escape.

Go to the given waypoint and Dock with the shuttle to repair it, then begin to escort it. You will have to destroy:

• 1 Tier 3 X-wing

After the shuttle launched you will receive another mission:

Endor System: Inspect the Rebel Command Shuttle

Description:

During the attack, command picked up a signal being sent from the fighters to a Rebel command shuttle. Intercept and inspect that vessel inside the Endor system.

It is escorted by:

• 2 Tier 4 X-wing
• 4 Tier 4 Z-95
• 2 Tier 4 Y-wing

Disable, Inspect then Dock with:

• 1 Tier 4 YKL-37r Nova Courier "Folding Dancer"

After this you will receive your last mission:

*Note: the escorts jump in again if you're not fast enough

Endor System: Destroy the Rebel Command Shuttle

Description:

Destroy the Rebel Command Shuttle in the Endor system. The recovered data reveals the secrets of the Endor project that were leaked to the Rebellion. Fortunately there was nothing there that couldn't be covered up and not enough information to keep the Rebels interested if we make things too costly. The Rebel command vessel is no longer needed and is to be eliminated.

Make your way to the given waypoint and destroy all spaceships:

• 5 Tier 3 X-wing.
• 1 Tier 4 YKL-37r Nova Courier "Folding Dancer".

Reward :

• Credits: 25000 credits
• 100 Imperial Faction Points
• A Level 6 Cygnus "Megadrive" Starship Engine

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Well done, %NU. Not only did you manage to drive the Rebel force back into hiding from the Endor system, you also managed to uncover all the information that was leaked to them by the traitor. We will be able to quickly change our plans for the system based off of that information and neutralize any advantage the Rebels might have had.
PC: I am proud to have been of assistance, sir.
Captain Denner: You have been far more than an assistance, you have been instrumental. I have made sure to note your contributions in my reports and you have garnished more than a fair share of attention. I fear that you will not be under my command for very much longer.
PC: I do not fight for glory, sir.
Captain Denner: I know that. But you have gained some measure of fame regardless. It has not been made official but I believe you will be transferred soon. If that is the case we must be sure that you are up to snuff.
PC: In what shall I be trained?
Captain Denner: We shall begin your training in system balance programming. Report back to me as soon as possible. The Empire needs all hands on deck.

Captain Denner will then train you and send you to the Admiral Kilnstrider at the Research Outpost, on Endor (Waypoint: 3226 -3435).

Conversation with Captain Denner

Captain Denner: Your time with me is through. I figured one of my superiors would have you transferred under his command.
PC: It has been a pleasure, sir.
Captain Denner: The pleasure has been all mine. You are being transferred to Admiral Kilnstrider, head of Storm Squadron. He is personally taking over security of the Endor system. A base of operations has been set up on the research center on the moon of Endor.
PC: You have been removed as head of Endor security?
Captain Denner: I am afraid so. I am to remain here and finish the preparations for the rest of Storm Squadron to be moved out of this system. Good luck to you, %NU. If you serve the Admiral as well as you served me all will be well.
