Blacksun AEG-77 Vigo[]
The Black Sun's transports became a common sight in both the underworld and legitimate shipping with the advent of Xizor Transport Systems. This particular transport class became well known as lightly defended. Pirates from a variety of bands began picking off the freighters, particularly those smuggling illegal cargo for Black Sun. Instead of dedicating fighters to escort transports carrying valuable cargo, Black Sun began modifying some of their transports to carry heavy firepower and act as escorts for the rest of the convoys. Named after Black Sun's lieutenants, the Vigo, this once-merchant class vessel has been elevated to the status of "gunship."
This gunship comes equipped with two forward mounted guns, four top mounted turrets, and two bottom mounted turrets. The gunship, originally a transport ship, is still large enough to hold a number of items and passengers inside.

The AEG-77 Vigo was a transport vessel of the criminal Black Sun organization that was also used by Xizor Transport Systems and other organizations and individuals at the time of the Galactic Civil War. Some ships were heavily modified for use as convoy escorts.
Characteristics[]
The ship provided lots of space for passengers and cargo. Its interior included three decks connected by two elevators, an observation room, a large bridge, a recreation room, an engineering room and a the cargo hold. Modified versions were equipped with two forward mounted guns, four top mounted turrets, and two bottom mounted turrets.

A purported defense bonus of 10% per occupied turret (for a max of 60%) is unconfirmed to apply to any server, and is confirmed to not apply in the Legends server.
History[]
The AEG-77 Vigo was originally used as light defended transport vessels by the Black Sun and also later by other organizations, including Xizor Transport Systems and the Hutt cartels. As they became known for their light weaponry, more and more transports were attacked and captured by pirate gangs, especially those smuggling valuable cargo for Black Sun. To counter this threat to its profits, Black Sun decided to modify some of their cargo transports into heavily defended gunships that would act as escorts for the rest of their convoys.
Acquisition[]
The single use schematic for this ship is a Chapter 8 collection reward, Granted after completing all five collection tiers for the Black Sun Pilot Quota Progress. A three use schematic is granted to a shipwright after crafting twenty of these gunships.
