Before the New Game Enhancements made it possible to for anyone to log in for the first time and create a new character as a Jedi, this class was rare and powerful. SWG players had to spend at minimum several weeks and often months working toward the goal, the number of Jedi was limited per server, and once killed that character remained dead. This difficult path made Jedi something to unusual to behold at the least, to cheer when they came to the aid of other players, and to fear if their ire was turned on you.
The very first phase of attaining Jedi was to become Force Sensitive. There was no simple, set path to this, but some general steps could be taken to reach the goal with extreme dedication and time.
