This quest is one of the Fate of the Galaxy pre-quests. |
Warning: This Quest is challenging, so you might want to take some friends with you.
To start the quest, speak with Epo Qetora, /way mustafar 442 218 -1229 Epo Qetora in the Mensix Mining Facility on Mustafar.
Conversation with Epo Qetora[]
Epo Qetora: Well, hello there. You look like you know your way around dangerous situations. Maybe you could help me out?
PC: I might be able to. What do you need help with?
Epo Qetora: Very kind, my friend. I am Epo Qetora...yes, the famed Twi'lek historian. I'm here trying to find out the history of this...rock. After scouting around and talking to some of its inhabitants, it's obvious that civilizations have been present here for thousands of years. Strangely enough though, apart from the last few hundred years, there are no records at all of who was here or where they are now.
PC: Really? That's very...interesting.
Epo Qetora: I agree! Now I think I've come across a way to find out more, though. In the northeast part of this continent, an old facility has been discovered. I went there to see if I could find anything interesting, but it almost cost me my life! The inside of it was inhabited by ferocious animals and old droids that had gone haywire. This is where I need your help, my friend.
PC: That could actually be something I'm interested in.
Epo Qetora: Good! Apparently, it belonged to the Old Republic and they should have kept detailed logs of events on the planet. What I need from you is to enter this old facility and see if their computer logs are still intact. If they are, download whatever information you can from it and get it back to me. If the information is useful, I will give a reward fit for a king!
PC: Sounds good. How do I get there?
Epo Qetora: It's all the way up in the northeast corner of this continent. Good luck and be careful!

Ancient bunker[]
The historian that has hired you came across an old bunker that used to belong to what was known as the Old Republic. It's located in the very North East edge of the continent.
Travel to the Old Research Facility POI /way mustafar 2109 3104 ORF
Data search[]
You've found the old bunker, now you need to venture inside and see if you can find a working computer terminal.
Enter the facility, an instanced dungeon with plenty of CL80+ droids and creatures in it. There is a 60 minutes or so time limit on this dungeon once you enter.
Proceed through the dungeon as follows (use “/target” to find objects):
Main Floor:
1-A) /tar Power Access Terminal (“Activate Power”) to open the door to the 1B Floor
1st Basement:
2-B) /tar Storage Chest (“Open”) for the Access Key Card
3) /tar Door Terminal (“Use Access Card”)
4-C) /tar Journal Screen (“Inspect Closely”) for the Security Code
5-) /tar Door Terminal (“Use Security Code”)
6-D) /tar Security Station (“Override Security”) to open the doors on the 2B Floor
(Head back to stairway and go down)
2nd Basement (Bottom Floor):
7-E) /tar Ventilation System (“Start Ventilation”)
8-F) /tar Air Systems Terminal (“Open Stuck Vents”)
The room the terminal in a guarded by two Silver Elite Guard droids and 4 MOBs. You can open the vents whilst in combat if needed.
9-G) Loot the computer parts from the box in Ancient Tulrus (CL87 Boss) room. (You do not need to defeat the Tulrus, simply stick next to the left wall, loot the parts, and run out, he will not aggro unless you have a droid out or loiter to long)
Back to Main Floor:
10-) /tar Log Access Terminal (“Scan terminal”)
A Silver Elite guard droid is in the doorway to the room and an Ancient Xandank Boss (CL 87 Gold Elite) is in the room to the left, about 236k health, you will need to come back to this room after part 3, below, the access terminal cannot be used from a distance like in step 9 above. (All group members with quest need do this). You just about get away with not causing aggro on the Xandank by staying to the far right and you can Scan the Terminal whilst in combat. It is possible to scan the terminal just prior to getting cloned by the Xandank. (An easy way to do this is to sic your droid on the Xandank, scan the terminals and run out, he de-aggros very quickly and you can make a few runs this way to access anything you need.)
- Couldn't be that easy
- The log files on the computer terminal are heavily encrypted. You will need to find some sort of decryption key to access them. It's a long shot but maybe one of the droids in here has it?
Computers...[]
The log files on the computer terminal you found are encrypted. You need to find a key to remove it with and all you can think of is that maybe one of the old droids has it.
Kill Security Droids in the facility until you get the Decryption Key
- Success!
- Your hunch was correct. Among the remains of the old security droid you find what you're looking for. Now lets just hope it's the right one. Head back to the computer terminal.
Note: If you are a smuggler you will simply have to wait 30 seconds as you hack the decryption, so you do not need to kill any droids.
The right key?[]
You've found a decryption key on the remains of one of the old security droids. Head back to the terminal and check if it's the correct one.
Go to the Log Access Terminal (H,I) on the first floor from Part 2, step 10 and select “Use decryption key” from its radial menu. Change the command core with the computer parts you looted earlier. Reboot the system.
- At last
- The key works, and you break the encryption on the log files. Unfortunately, most of the data is damaged beyond repair, but some information is intact, and you quickly download it to a disk. Head back to Epo Qetora.
This will complete the quest and you can safely die and clone back to the mining facility to complete the quest at this point if you choose.
Mission accomplished[]
You have found what you could from the old facility, hopefully it's what Qetora is looking for.
Return to Epo Qetora
Conversation with Epo Qetora[]
Epo Qetora: %TU, you are back! How did everything go?
PC: There wasn't much data left intact but I got what I could.
Epo Qetora: Let me have a look at that please. Ohh, this is very interesting. I wish there was more, but it's all that was left, you say? Too bad, but at least this gives me some clues and shows that I'm on the right track. I'm most grateful, my friend.
PC: Don't mention it. I'm glad it's of some help.
Epo Qetora: It very much is. Now for your reward. Let's see...where did I put that thing... You can keep this disk, by the way. I've already copied it down on my datapad. Ah, here it is! This helmet should be useful for someone in your line of work. What type of armor would you like it to be modified for?
PC: Assault, please. / Battle, please. / Recon, please.
Epo Qetora: Certainly. Here we go. All yours!.
PC: Very nice! It was a pleasure working with you, Epo.
Epo Qetora: The pleasure was all mine, %TU. If you find yourself looking for something else to do, come back and see me. I've got another lead I need help with.

To start the quest, speak with Epo Qetora again (/wp mustafa 442 218 -122) in the Mensix Mining Facility on Mustafar.
Conversation with Epo Qetora[]
Epo Qetora: Great to see you again, %TU! I could use your assistance again if you have some time to spare?
PC: Why else would I be here? Your charming personality?
Epo Qetora: Umm...anyway, while you were up retrieving the data log from that old bunker for me, I was out doing a bit of exploring of my own. To the northeast of us, but south of the bunker you ventured to, I came across some old buildings of unknown origin. Among them I found this, a piece of an old tablet with some writing on it. Unfortunately, it's been shattered and this is but a small piece of the puzzle so to speak.
PC: Didn't occur to you to look for the other pieces while you were there?
Epo Qetora: Indeed it did, but as I was looking around, I noticed I was no longer alone. I spotted some skulking figures moving around the area, also apparently searching for something. I didn't like the way they looked and sneaked off before they could spot me. It's my hope that you could return there and see if you can find the other pieces of the tablet?
PC: Probably just some filthy scavengers. I'll handle them.
Epo Qetora: I'm sure you will... Don't forget about the tablet pieces, though. If the rest are about the same size as this one, my guess is there will be four more of them.
PC: I'll get them. Don't worry.
Epo Qetora: You haven't disappointed me so far, %TU. I'm not worried. Still, good luck out there!
A second lesson[]
Epo wants you to retrieve the missing pieces of the tablet he found. He believes there to be four more pieces and he thinks they are somewhere around an old camp North East of the new mining facility, South of the bunker you visited the last time you worked for Epo.

Conversation with Epo Qetora[]
Epo Qetora: %TU! Please tell me you've had some luck. I've had nothing but misfortune lately.
PC: Sorry to hear that. Yes, I do believe I have all the pieces.
Epo Qetora: You know how to make an old man happy, my friend. Let me have a look. Yes, this is perfect. That's all of them. Very interesting. I will get you a copy of the translated text. Give me a minute.
PC: Thanks! I am curious as to what it will say.
Epo Qetora: I bet, after all the trouble you've gone through. Alright, the translated text is done as well. Another job well done, my friend. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without you and I'm most grateful. Now for your reward, I've come across a stash of weapons and was wondering about your preference: a rifle, carbine, or pistol?
PC: Rifle sounds good. / Carbine sounds good. / Pistol sounds good.
Epo Qetora: Not a problem. Here you go. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without you and I'm most grateful.
PC: Thank you for everything. It's been very interesting.
Epo Qetora: I'm glad to hear that, %TU. Well, I'm afraid this concludes our business, for now at least. Take well care of yourself and thanks again.
